At this point, Li Qingwan couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache. The ten thousand yuan she’d scraped together had been saved with great effort over a long time—she’d always been reluctant to spend it, yet today she had no choice but to use it.

He Haoxuan simply smiled, saying nothing. To him, ten thousand yuan was nothing much, but seeing how anxious his sister-in-law was over the sum, it was clear her days in the Li family hadn’t been easy. Those people in the Li family were really too much—just wait, there would be a good show to watch soon. A sly glint flashed across He Haoxuan’s face.

Li Qingwan assumed He Haoxuan had agreed, so she said nothing more and closed her eyes, leaning back in the car seat to rest. Sigh, keeping up this lie for the past two days had truly worn her out.

No one knew how much time had passed before Xiao Juan, sitting in the back, asked, “Brother Xuan, are we at Starlight Club yet?”

“Almost—” He Haoxuan glanced at the road ahead, thinking that after the next turn, they’d arrive.

But before he could finish, Li Qingwan interrupted him, turning to the back and saying, “Xiao Juan, I just got a message—Starlight Club is packed with guests tonight and all the private rooms are booked. So, we need to switch to another club. We’re almost there, don’t worry, it’ll be a lot of fun.”

“What? We’re not going to Starlight Club anymore?” another female classmate exclaimed in surprise.

“That’s right, but it’s more or less the same—same price, about a hundred thousand yuan. Don’t worry.” Li Qingwan’s skin was thick enough that lying came easily to her, and she showed no sign of guilt.

As if it were really about the same—it was a difference of ninety thousand.

Suddenly, Xiao Juan pointed to a sign ahead and said, “Hey, isn’t that Starlight Club?”

“What?” Li Qingying turned around in shock and saw the huge “Starlight Club” sign just ahead. She was terrified.

That damned He Haoxuan! Hadn’t she told him to drive to Red Blaze Club? Had he lost his mind and driven to Starlight Club instead?

“He Haoxuan, get to Red Blaze Club at once! Turn around, quickly!” Li Qingwan glared at He Haoxuan through gritted teeth.

If she could, she would have bitten a chunk out of him right there.

Yet He Haoxuan seemed not to hear her and simply drove into the parking lot, opening the door. “Alright, everyone, let’s get out.”

“Haoxuan!” Li Qingwan was so angry after getting out of the car that she started looking for something to hit him with.

Behind them, a car horn sounded. A Mercedes pulled up, and Wang Zhisheng and Minnie got out.

“Hahaha, Li Qingwan, you look absolutely frantic. What’s the matter? Are you scared I’ll expose you in a bit?” Minnie taunted gleefully from behind.

Li Qingying snapped, “Minnie, what are you doing here? I didn’t invite you.”

“We don’t need your invitation. We’re just here to watch you pretend,” Minnie replied with a bright smile, eagerly awaiting the drama.

Xiao Juan asked He Haoxuan in a low voice, “Brother Xuan, are we really going to Starlight Club now?”

“Yes, this is the place,” He Haoxuan nodded, beckoning Li Qingwan. “Let’s go. Everything’s arranged. Tonight, we’ll have our fun here.”

Seeing Minnie and the others had arrived, Li Qingwan had no way out and could only bite the bullet and follow He Haoxuan inside.

She’d heard that security would stop them at the entrance and ask for a membership card. In that case, she could try saying she needed to use the restroom and see if they’d let her in. With her looks, there might be a chance.

Minnie, watching them really head towards the club, suddenly panicked. “Zhisheng, could they really pull this off?”

Even Wang Zhisheng didn’t have a membership card for this place, so how could they get in?

“Hmph, that loser He Haoxuan? No way he can pull it off. He’s probably just gambling on luck, hoping to slip by,” Wang Zhisheng scoffed.

He himself, the young master of a wealthy family, didn’t dare walk into Starlight Club. He Haoxuan was nothing but a useless bum—how could he possibly get in? If he managed it, Wang Zhisheng might as well eat his own words.

So, Wang Zhisheng and Minnie stood with arms crossed, waiting to see He Haoxuan and his group thrown out by security.

Anyone who tried to sneak in without a membership card would get no mercy. The security at Starlight Club was infamous—they were not to be trifled with.

In no time, He Haoxuan and the others reached the security guards.

“Sir, may I see your membership card?” one of the guards asked, still a bit green around the ears.

Li Qingwan’s expression changed. She was just about to flash a flirtatious smile and quietly ask if she could use the restroom when He Haoxuan spoke up loudly, “I need a membership card to get in?”

His voice rang out so clearly that not only did everyone nearby hear, but even Wang Zhisheng and the others behind them caught every word.

“Hahaha, He Haoxuan’s done for now. Those security guys are tough—they’re going to beat him up for sure,” Wang Zhisheng laughed.

Minnie joined in, gloating, “That idiot really has a death wish, mouthing off to the guards. He doesn’t know what’s good for him.”

Just as the young security guard was about to get angry, another guard behind him tugged his sleeve and quickly stepped forward. “Please, sir, come in. Your room is ready.”

“Hmph.” He Haoxuan snorted coldly and led Li Qingwan and the others inside.

He’d told Fang Yongsheng last night—if they didn’t reserve a private room for him, he wouldn’t be so polite.

Li Qingwan was utterly baffled. What was going on? How had a couple of sharp words from He Haoxuan gotten them inside? Did the world now belong to whoever shouted the loudest?

The security guard, seeing He Haoxuan walk in, wiped the cold sweat from his brow.

Damn, his colleague hadn’t recognized He Haoxuan at all—he’d been too distracted by the pretty girls. He smacked himself in the face. Beautiful women were trouble—never again would he let himself get distracted.

Mr. He was Starlight Club’s top VIP. Every security guard and staff member had seen his photo. When Mr. He visited, not only did he not need a membership card, but everything was complimentary. Anyone who crossed him would lose their head.

“Keep your eyes open next time. If I hadn’t stepped in just now, you’d be finished,” the other guard, known as Brother Yue, sighed.

“Thank you, Brother Yue. Drinks are on me after work,” the guard replied gratefully.

Minnie stared in disbelief. “Zhisheng, did you see that? Li Qingwan and her group went inside Starlight Club! Am I dreaming? Did I see it wrong?”

“You didn’t see wrong. I saw them too,” Wang Zhisheng said angrily.

“This is impossible! He Haoxuan’s a pauper—how could he get into Starlight Club? And Li Qingwan, even if her family has some money, it’s not nearly enough,” Minnie shook her head furiously.

Wang Zhisheng sneered, “I think I know what’s really going on here.”
