Chapter 111: Your Whole Family Is Useless
"Hahaha, Song Li, is your son-in-law really some wealthy young master? Stop bragging," Song Fang mocked. "Everyone, listen to this—Song Li is truly shameless. Besides, I suspect this car doesn't even belong to them; they probably rented it."
"Rented it?" Song Li hesitated, "It couldn't be, could it?"
If that were the case, Song Li would be far too obsessed with appearances. Even if they had no money, was there any need to put on such a grand show? Renting such a luxury car for a day must be incredibly expensive, right?
"Song Fang, don't talk nonsense! You're the one who rents cars—your whole family rents cars!" Song Li retorted indignantly.
Song Fang sneered, "Song Li, if you didn't rent this car, then fine. Show us the vehicle registration for these two cars. I refuse to believe the names on those documents are yours."
"The registration?!" Song Li panicked upon hearing this.
The situation felt precarious. Although He Haoxuan claimed Li Qingying had bought them, they weren't entirely sure if that was true. They had been driving for so long, yet they hadn't even checked the registration papers. If their names weren't on them, it would be a massive embarrassment.
"That's right, Song Li. Are you too afraid to take them out?" Seeing Song Li's panicked expression, Song Fang assumed she had guessed correctly.
"I—why would I be afraid? It's just that there is trust between us; my word is the truth," Song Li stammered, trying to brush it off.
However, Song Fang wouldn't let her get away with it. She immediately ran to the car where He Haoxuan and the others were sitting and pulled the registration document from the glove compartment.
"Hahaha, look at this! The name on this registration is—" Song Fang started off elated, but when she actually saw the name, she fell silent.
"Song Fang, whose name is on the registration?" Song Li asked anxiously.
"It's... it's Li Qingying's." Song Fang couldn't believe it. She rubbed her eyes vigorously, but the reality remained unchanged.
Kong Xiaoying shouted, "Mom, what about the registration for the other car?" Since childhood, Kong Xiaoying had always targeted Li Qingying for ridicule; she couldn't stand the thought of her cousin having it so easy.
"Right, why didn't I think of that?" Song Fang immediately dashed toward the BMW parked behind them.
By the time Song Li collected her thoughts, Song Fang had already opened the door of that BMW. After opening the registration folder, Song Fang's expression shifted, "What? How is this possible? Why is it Li Qingying's name again?"
"What?" Kong Xiaoying went mad. How could this be? Another car belonging to Li Qingying? Did that mean she owned two BMW X7s? She had been working for so long and hadn't even been able to afford a basic economy car—what right did Li Qingying have to this? Kong Xiaoying was consumed by jealousy; she wished she could erase the name on the document and replace it with her own.
"Ah," Song Li was also stunned. How could this be? Were both BMW X7s registered in her daughter's name? Song Li took the document from Song Fang’s hand and looked closely. It was true. "Hahaha, look at that! Our Qingying is truly amazing."
"Indeed, Sister Li, please, come inside and sit. You must be tired from driving all morning." Song Li's uncle, Song Li, felt a secret jolt of shock, quickly turning his surprise into flattery.
Li Qingying whispered to He Haoxuan, "Where did you find a friend to forge these? You actually managed to fake the documents for both cars."
"Wife, those are genuine documents," He Haoxuan corrected her.
"I know, I know—they look very authentic," Li Qingying nodded secretly.
Song Li and her family were ushered inside, surrounded by various members of the Song family. Song Li was in her element, her voice booming as she chatted with everyone. Seeing this, Song Fang deliberately looked at He Haoxuan and asked, "Song Li, is this your live-in son-in-law? I heard he's a good-for-nothing."
"Song Fang, don't talk nonsense. He Haoxuan is very capable," Song Li said, though she didn't quite believe it herself. *Sigh, He Haoxuan has never lived up to expectations; even someone as good at bragging as me can't find anything to brag about regarding him.*
"Really? What is he capable of?" Song Fang sneered.
Song Li paused and pursed her lips. "Hmph, everyone said your live-in son-in-law was a loser, and now that I look, I see it's true."
He Haoxuan glared at Song Fang and snapped, "You're the loser. Your whole family are losers."
Out of respect for Li Qingying, He Haoxuan hadn't done anything to Song Li’s family, but he had no patience for people like Song Fang. If Li Qingying hadn't mentioned that Song Fang was her cousin-in-law, he would have kicked her right out of Qingshan City.
"Ah! You're insulting me?" Song Fang's face changed. "Song Li, what is wrong with your son-in-law? How can he talk to me like that?"
Song Li felt a rush of satisfaction hearing He Haoxuan curse Song Fang. She never expected him to stand up to a vicious woman like that. It seemed that even a manual laborer wasn't entirely useless; sometimes, being a bit rough was a good thing.
"Haoxuan, you shouldn't curse Song Fang. It's enough that you know she's a loser; saying it out loud isn't very polite, is it?" Song Li said with a smug smile.
Her words only added fuel to the fire, making Song Fang stomp with rage. But when it came to a battle of wits, Song Fang was no match for Song Li.
"By the way, Song Fang, let me tell you, Haoxuan also bought quite a few gifts. But since he saw we already brought so many, he didn't take them out," Song Li boasted.
"That's right, I bought many valuable things," He Haoxuan added, nodding. "After all, it's my first time visiting, so I had to save face for my wife. Sigh, it's truly a headache having so much money that I can't spend it all."
Song Li felt goosebumps all over; she never expected that while He Haoxuan usually didn't brag, once he started, it was unbearable. This was just too much—she almost couldn't believe it herself.
"Enough, you loser, keep on bragging. Since you have so much money, tell me, what good things did you buy? Did you bring any alcohol? I heard 'Feitian Moutai' is very expensive now, costing two or three thousand per bottle. Did you bring any?" Song Fang challenged. Since she couldn't attack the BMWs, she would mock him over the gifts.
Song Li's gift earlier had been decent—perhaps worth several thousand—which had already shocked her. Song Li was usually stingy when visiting her maiden home; why was she so generous this time?
"Yes, there is Moutai inside," He Haoxuan replied. "I heard from Qingying that Uncle Song Li loves it, so I brought a whole case."
"Is it really Feitian Moutai? Not that 'Moutai Yingbin' stuff?" Song Li asked, shouting in surprise. Everyone knew there was a massive price difference between Feitian Moutai and other varieties.
