Chapter Forty-Five: Led to Victory by the Master
The opposing support and marksman seized the right moment to pressure Luo Yixia, aiming to take her tower. Forced under the turret, unable to clear the minion wave, Luo Yixia watched as both her own and the turret’s health dwindled precariously, thinking it was all over.
At that moment, someone flashed in beside her, swiftly taking down the enemy support who was tanking upfront and securing “first blood.” While Luo Yixia was still in shock, their jungler followed up by clearing jungle monsters, then used their skill to dive the tower and finish off the weakened enemy marksman who had tried to hide beneath it.
“Wow, amazing,” Luo Yixia exclaimed in admiration. The teammate who had been complaining earlier now commented, “Not bad at all.”
Song Chengyi continued to farm the jungle, supporting all three lanes and pushing waves. Suddenly, the game shifted into a dominant position for their team.
However, the bottom lane grew greedy, pushing all the way to the enemy’s base turret. Unable to receive timely support, they were outnumbered and killed—both the support and marksman fell. The opposing team seized the opportunity and took control of mid lane.
In an instant, their previous advantage turned into a disadvantage. Watching the enemy minion wave march towards their base, Luo Yixia began to panic; she couldn’t hold them off. Her teammates were still twenty seconds away from respawning.
Retreating down mid lane, Luo Yixia faced the five opponents preparing to finish the match. At that critical moment, Song Chengyi, fresh from clearing jungle monsters, unleashed a powerful ultimate, instantly eliminating the enemy’s fragile mage and marksman.
The opposing team was rattled, but showed no intention of withdrawing. Luo Yixia tanked the damage, while Song Chengyi skillfully dealt more with his abilities, unleashed another ultimate, and took down yet another foe. Seeing the tide turn, the enemy jungler realized the situation was dire and used multiple dashes to escape. The abandoned tank wasn’t so fortunate, granting Song Chengyi a “quadra kill.”
Those who had previously mocked Song Chengyi were now completely silenced. Luo Yixia, still alive against all odds, could hardly believe it. The enemy jungler remarked, “Your jungler really knows what he’s doing—he’s quite something.” Luo Yixia felt as pleased as if the praise were directed at herself.
With four of the opposing team dead and their own marksman revived, An Xun pushed the minion wave to the enemy base and secured the crystal.
Seeing the bright “Victory” displayed, Luo Yixia truly wished she could hug Song Chengyi and shower him with kisses; her idol was just that impressive. Even playing casually, he was MVP.
After the match ended, her teammates clamored for another round. Luo Yixia hadn’t had her fill either, and since Song Chengyi noticed the two mothers hadn’t returned yet, he agreed.
Of course, Song Chengyi chose the jungle role again, this time picking a female assassin. Luo Yixia had secretly practiced this hero many times but never managed to play her well. Every time her ultimate was interrupted, she felt as helpless as meat on a chopping board.
She wondered how well Song Chengyi would handle her.
This round, Luo Yixia picked a mage. At the start, the support—who only ever played support, the girl from before—surprisingly followed Song Chengyi instead of the marksman. Luo Yixia couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed; seeing how powerful Song Chengyi’s jungle was, the support immediately switched over—really, now.
Song Chengyi started by securing the blue buff, as the hero consumed a lot of mana, then immediately invaded the enemy jungle. He called out to Luo Yixia, “Come get blue.”
Luo Yixia eagerly ran over, finishing off the buff with the last hit, delighted to step on the blue daddy. By the time the enemy jungler finished red and arrived, everything was gone.
In any case, this round Luo Yixia was carried again. However, after seeing Luo Yixia take his blue, the enemy jungler began to chase her relentlessly. Before she could even enjoy the blue buff, she was ambushed in the bushes by a group of enemies—her fate was sealed.
