She was about to replace Song Chengyi’s mouthwash cup, but considering his unpredictable temperament, she pouted and decided she ought to let him know first.

When she entered the bedroom, she found Song Chengyi studying. He still sensed her presence, turned his head, and asked, “What’s up?”

“I bought an extra cup for mouthwash. I’ll swap yours out, okay?” she said, waving the cup in her hand.

“Just do what you need to do,” Song Chengyi replied without much thought.

“Alright,” Luo Yixia agreed quickly, then scurried out of the room.

Happily, she replaced his cup on the washstand with the new set she had carefully chosen. Then she returned to the living room to continue tidying up.

She had also bought herself pajamas and a few lighter outfits for summer. It was the height of summer now, and the clothes her mother had packed for her were all too thick.

Thinking of her hot-tempered mother, she felt a pang of frustration. How had her father ever fallen for a woman who acted like she was permanently in menopause? People said menopause came in middle age, but as far back as she could remember, her mother had always been like this. She sighed, thinking of her own less-than-ideal childhood…

Luo Yixia shook her head to drive away these thoughts, not wanting to dwell and feel more upset. She continued organizing her things.

She picked up her new clothes, then looked around the living room for her suitcase. She was certain she’d left it there after her shower last night.

Had Song Chengyi put it away?

Luo Yixia quietly opened the bedroom door and poked her head in. She spotted her suitcase in the corner of the room. Stepping softly, she tiptoed over to claim it.

“What are you doing?” Song Chengyi’s voice startled her.

She blinked, caught in the act, and glanced at Song Chengyi, then down at herself, sneaking around like a… thief…

“I… haha… I’m just organizing my clothes…” She quickly held up the clothes in her arms, anxious to clear up any misunderstanding.

“I have half the wardrobe empty. You can put your things there,” he said, turning back to his books.

Relieved at his permission, Luo Yixia hurried to open Song Chengyi’s wardrobe.

It was clean and tidy, just like him—fresh, orderly, and comfortable to look at. He didn’t own many clothes, and they were all in muted shades of gray, black, and white. Do all heartthrobs favor these colors? Luo Yixia pouted, but obediently placed her clothes beside his.

She hesitated when it came to her underwear. At home, she had a separate drawer, but here it felt awkward. She couldn’t just put them anywhere—how embarrassing if Song Chengyi saw them.

She opened a lower drawer. In an instant, she slammed it shut in fright.

The noise caught Song Chengyi’s attention. “Hm? What’s wrong?”

“I… I, um, nothing… just putting away my things…” Luo Yixia stammered, her face flushed bright red.

Song Chengyi, used to her jumpy nature, didn’t think much of it.

Biting her lower lip, Luo Yixia wondered if those were his underwear she’d just seen… How mortifying! Thank goodness he hadn’t noticed—but now her mind kept replaying images unfit for children…

She opened an empty drawer, finally settling her own things inside. Then she dashed out of the bedroom. Her heart was still racing, and her face was burning. Lately… her thoughts had been so improper—what was going on with her?
