Chapter 104: Victory

Watching the white-hot battle scene, Gu Chongyan hesitated for a moment, choosing not to make his move immediately. With his current strength, if he were to intervene, he could naturally end the fight in no time. However, he also realized that this battle would serve as an excellent training opportunity for Su Yan and Richard. Even the Runaways, whom he had only just met, Gu Chongyan was inclined to take under his wing—let alone Su Yan and Richard, who had been by his side all along.
From the very first day he rescued Su Yan, Gu Chongyan had been nurturing him as one of his own. After Su Yan, through a twist of fate, absorbed the power of three demons, this nurturing had become all the more urgent. Richard's superpower may have come as an unexpected surprise, but knowing Richard as he did, Gu Chongyan was certain that the young man was destined to walk the path of a superhero sooner or later. That being the case, Gu Chongyan naturally would not let go of such a natural ally.
In terms of raw power, Su Yan, who had absorbed the strength of three demons, might not rank among the top tier of superheroes, but he had certainly earned the right to stand on his own. The same could be said for Richard—indeed, with the Nova Corps in the picture, his potential for growth was even greater than Su Yan's. If the two of them were properly cultivated, they could rise to the level of superheroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, or Ant-Man within the Avengers.
Jonah was no pushover, and Tina, with her mastery of magic combined with the Staff of One, made for a worthy opponent. Rather than letting him take them down easily, it was better to leave the two of them to practice their skills and temper their abilities. After all, superheroes aren't forged in a single day, and in reality, there is no skill button—no one can instantly master a newfound power. Battle is always the best way to learn.
While Gu Chongyan was in no hurry to end the fight, the same could not be said for Jonah and the members of the Pride. Jonah was naturally worried about the Gibborim trapped at the bottom of the pit, wondering what Gu Chongyan and the others might have done. The longer the delay, the more uneasy he grew. Moreover, although the Earthling body had extended his life, it also severely limited his power. Every additional ounce of strength he exerted caused his body to decay faster, and the intense battle had already begun to take its toll on him.
The Pride, too, was anxious. They feared that the massive scale of the battle would draw outside attention if it dragged on, which would be detrimental to them in every possible way. Driven by their mounting panic, both Jonah and Tina unleashed even greater fighting strength.
Bang!

Like an asteroid erupting, the white light around Jonah burst apart, resembling fireworks exploding in the night sky, shooting out streaks of white light that surged toward Su Yan at the center of the storm. Each beam of light that pierced through wind and rain was like a meteor shower cascading down from the heavens—beautiful yet perilous. With his full power unleashed, Jonah's radiance was so penetrating that Su Yan's raging storm could not hold it back.
Under the barrage of light, falling like ten thousand arrows loosed at once, Su Yan's small face paled, his eyes betraying a flicker of panic. Gu Chongyan frowned and raised his staff, ready to intervene. But then, as if some thought had crossed Su Yan's mind, he gritted his teeth and, facing the onslaught of white light, chose not to retreat.
The howling gale around him let out a high-pitched shriek as a mass of water spun rapidly in his hands. Gu Chongyan could feel the magical elements of the world converging upon Su Yan at incredible speed. A gleam of realization flashed in his eyes, and the corner of his mouth curled into a faint smile. He slowly lowered the staff he had raised. He knew that from this moment on, Su Yan had truly mastered the power of the three demons—the converging magical elements were none other than the vast potential bestowed upon him by the Earth Demon.
The converging magical elements infused the spinning water with extraordinary power. Just as the white light pierced through the last of the storm and reached Su Yan, the rapidly whirling water was hurled outward by Su Yan in the form of a Wave Punch.
Boom!
Like a mortar round firing, the spiraling water carried invisible wind blades and exploded with tremendous force. Every droplet that burst forth was imbued with the power of wind blades, as hard as steel, colliding against the white light. Each beam of searing light carried temperatures exceeding a thousand degrees, yet it could not evaporate those crystal-clear, diamond-like droplets. One by one, the beams of light shattered upon impact with the droplets, scattering into countless specks of white stardust—if not for the battlefield around them, the scene would have been utterly dreamlike.
Bang!
Just as the countless beams of light shattered into dreamlike stardust, a powerful shockwave slammed violently into Jonah's body. It was the airflow wrapped around the water—at the moment the water exploded, the condensed air gained an even greater propulsive force, striking Jonah like a physical entity. Though Jonah was a Gibborim, his physical form remained human. The fierce impact nearly tore apart his internal organs. Had his formidable vitality not repaired the damage to his body in time, the big boss would have been well and truly finished.

Though he survived, such a devastating blow had utterly dismantled Jonah's fighting capability. Having followed Gu Chongyan for so long, Su Yan had clearly learned the principle of "strike while the iron is hot." He did not let his guard down just because Jonah was gravely wounded. He immediately manipulated the airflow to coil around Jonah's neck, clearly intending to send him to his grave in one decisive move.
"Soul-Body Separation!"
"Bind Now!"
Just then, a familiar voice rang out in his ear. Immediately after, a streak of white light and a streak of red light shot toward Jonah one after the other. The white light struck Jonah first, and with a flash, the radiance emanating from his body vanished in an instant. At the same time, a humanoid mass of light was ejected from his back with a soft pop. The moment the mass of light popped out, Jonah's body seemed to have aged decades in an instant, and with a crack, it crumbled into a pile of dust.
Following that, the red light transformed into an invisible chain, binding the struggling mass of white light and dragging it into the alchemy cauldron, to keep company with his family.
"Brother Gu, you're out! I beat that alien, you know!" Seeing this, Su Yan quickly dispersed his power and landed beside Gu Chongyan. Looking at Su Yan's beaming face, Gu Chongyan reached out and ruffled his hair, praising, "Mm, I saw that. Well done."
Hearing Gu Chongyan's praise, the smile on Su Yan's face grew even brighter.
The moment Su Yan's battle with Jonah reached its conclusion, Richard and Tina's fight also came to an end. At first, the two were evenly matched, but as Richard gradually grew accustomed to the power of the Nova Force, the scales of victory began to tip in his favor. Coupled with the fact that his power came from the Nova uniform—virtually inexhaustible—while Tina's magic was drawn from her own reserves, Richard ultimately triumphed by draining Tina's magic dry.
