Chapter 102: The Giborium People

"Understood, Brother Gu," Su Yan replied, his small face tense as he nodded with determination.

Gu Chongyan smiled with satisfaction, uttered "Phantom Translocation," and vanished instantly before everyone's eyes. In the next moment, his figure appeared at the bottom of the fathomless pit.

Just as portrayed in the television series, the massive pit glowed with eerie blue luminescence. Unlike conventional metallic vessels, a unique spaceship resembling a rainbow jellyfish was buried deep underground.

Three humanoid figures, shining with white light, drifted within the rainbow jellyfish, occasionally emitting incomprehensible sounds.

Gu Chongyan knew that these three humanoid lights were the alien lifeforms known as Gibborim.

The Gibborim were beings made of pure light, cruel and greedy, capable of emitting powerful beams and absorbing light. They also possessed advanced abilities on the psychic level: even if their core bodies were destroyed, they could attach themselves to other lifeforms, seizing their bodies and being reborn within them.

To ordinary people, they were almost like deities; but to Gu Chongyan, these Gibborim were merely aliens with certain superpowers.

Staring at the jellyfish-like spaceship, Gu Chongyan drew his Dragonbone Wand and swung it with decisive force.

"Edge Without Shadow!"

The magical energy in the air swiftly gathered into an invisible blade, slashing the vessel's exterior and leaving a massive wound on its translucent jellyfish-like hull.

A deep hum resonated from the ship as the three humanoid lights grew louder, their voices laced with fury and fear, even if Gu Chongyan couldn't understand their words.

He sneered coldly, showing no restraint. With another shake of his wand, he unleashed another "Edge Without Shadow" upon the ship.

In the television series, the Gibborim's spaceship possessed formidable regenerative abilities. Chas's mechanical gloves could repeatedly cut open the hull, only for it to heal quickly.

Yet this regenerative power was clearly insufficient against Gu Chongyan's magic.

The wounds inflicted by Edge Without Shadow could not heal unless the curse of dark magic was lifted.

The Gibborim were not only unique in their own nature; their spaceship, though not a living entity, possessed a strange vitality.

This liminal state between life and non-life granted the ship tremendous repair capabilities, but also imbued it with the vulnerabilities of living things.

Under Edge Without Shadow, the gaping wounds refused to close, and brilliant light began to seep from the ship's interior.

This was no ordinary light—it was the very source of power that had sustained the Gibborim for countless years.

It was precisely because of this light that the three Gibborim had survived nearly ten millennia.

Now, as the light leaked out, the Gibborim grew increasingly agitated, darting frantically within the ship and screeching in sharp, grating tones.

Gu Chongyan also sensed the pure energy contained within the light. He swiftly retrieved Angus's Alchemy Cauldron from his cloak.

"Condense and Shape!"

A wave of his wand caused the scattered light to flow like water suspended in midair, drawn by magic into the cauldron.

The steadily gathering light coalesced into a crystal within the cauldron, radiating dazzling white brilliance.

Realizing Gu Chongyan was stealing the very light upon which their survival depended, the three Gibborim could no longer restrain themselves.

With furious cries, the three masses of light burst from the ship, unleashing intense beams at Gu Chongyan.

"Mirror Reflection!"

Gu Chongyan sneered, flicking his wand lightly. An invisible mirror materialized in the air, shielding him.

The three beams struck the mirror, instantly rebounding and slamming into the Gibborim themselves.

Having eked out existence in their ship for over ten millennia, the Gibborim were already extremely frail.

Their assault on Gu Chongyan was a risky gamble, and now, struck by their own attacks, their humanoid forms began to collapse and scatter.

Seeing this, Gu Chongyan pondered for a moment and decided to spare their lives—for now.

It wasn't out of sudden compassion, but because of the Runaway Alliance.

Among the six members of the Runaway Alliance, only four truly caught Gu Chongyan's eye: Nicole, Carolina, Alex, and Chas.

These four either possessed remarkable combat prowess and immense potential, or exceptional scientific talent, complementing the team's weaknesses.

By comparison, Molly, who was merely strong, and Gert, who controlled a Velociraptor, were rather lackluster.

Super strength was hardly unique—there were plenty of superheroes with extraordinary strength in the Marvel universe. Molly's strength was notable, but paled next to those famed for their raw power.

Moreover, her superpower was severely limited: each use consumed vast amounts of energy, forcing her to recover through sleep and food.

Frankly, it was the classic "three strikes"—if she couldn't finish things quickly, it was game over.

Compared to Molly, Gert's superpower was even more lackluster—bordering on useless.

She could communicate mentally with a Velociraptor, but the creature's strength was pitiful, only threatening ordinary people.

In fact, prepared civilians armed with guns could easily dispatch the Velociraptor.

Worse still, due to their psychic bond, any injury to one would cause discomfort in the other, making their combined effectiveness less than the sum of their parts.

Within the team, the Velociraptor was more mascot than asset—pleasant to look at, but of little practical use.

Given the choice, Gu Chongyan would rather not have these two join his team.

But the Runaway Alliance was a tight-knit unit; their relationships were close. If he sought to recruit the other four, he couldn't abandon these two.

He spared the three Gibborim precisely for their sake.

Gu Chongyan considered Molly's powers, which originated from special minerals absorbed during a massive explosion.

These minerals came from the rocks surrounding the Gibborim ship and, after years of contact, had become imbued with the ship's power.

Thus, in a sense, Molly's abilities were derived from the Gibborim.

If he could find a way for Molly to absorb the Gibborim's power, perhaps her superpowers could be enhanced, their weaknesses alleviated, and her value to the team increased.

Similarly, as beings capable of attaching themselves to other lifeforms, the Gibborim could naturally bond with the Velociraptor.

If he could use their power to transform the Velociraptor, Gert's combat effectiveness might be improved as well.

If possible, Gu Chongyan would rather not have these two join his ranks, but the Runaway Alliance was a package deal; their bonds were inseparable.

He spared the Gibborim for the sake of Molly and Gert.

If Molly could absorb the Gibborim's power, her superpowers might become stronger and her weaknesses eliminated, making her far more valuable.

And if Gert's Velociraptor could be enhanced by the Gibborim's power, Gert's abilities would finally be worthwhile.
