Chapter Sixty-Five: A Classmate Insisted on Giving It to Me!
That night, no matter how Qin Lin'er tried, she just couldn't get comfortable in bed. After a long while, she hopped her way toward Qin Xuan's room. Perhaps today, Liu Ruoxi had guessed Lin'er would come looking for Qin Xuan; seeing how pitiful she was, she had graciously given up her spot for her.
Qin Lin'er pushed open the door, poking her head inside. Seeing Qin Xuan still playing games, she asked curiously, "Brother, where’s Sister Xi?"
Qin Xuan glanced at the sneaky Lin'er, quickly abandoned his mouse, and hurried over to steady her. "She didn’t come today."
Lin'er: Oh? Doesn’t that work out in my favor?
Just as she was about to dart into the room, Qin Xuan’s quick reflexes caught her, otherwise she might have taken another tumble.
"Why are you in such a rush? Doesn’t your foot hurt?" Qin Xuan scolded.
"Hehe! It does, but let me get on the bed first!" Lin'er hopped onto the bed, letting out a long sigh as she lay down. Qin Xuan’s bed was always the most comfortable!
Qin Xuan looked helplessly at Lin'er, who acted like a little rogue, occupying his bed and refusing to budge. She even pulled the quilt over herself, perhaps because the winter cold was biting, and wriggled about, pressing the sides of the blanket under her.
Still feeling chilly, she finally turned to Qin Xuan.
"Brother, stop playing and come warm the bed!" Lin'er nudged him with her uninjured left foot.
"Wait, wait!" He was in the middle of a team fight! Two seconds later, Qin Xuan stared at the black-and-white screen and sighed—it was all Liner's fault! Otherwise, he might have turned the tables!
Left with no choice, Qin Xuan shut down his computer, turning to face Lin’er, whose little head poked out from under the covers.
Qin Xuan sniffed. "Smells like medicine."
Lin'er took offense at that. "Qin Xuan! Are you disgusted by me?"
"That’s not what I meant..." Qin Xuan realized she’d misunderstood, and quickly tried to explain.
"Humph!" Lin'er turned away, refusing to look at him. If her foot didn't hurt, she’d have rolled over entirely!
"I was just joking, don’t be mad," Qin Xuan said, squeezing into the bed in his pajamas. He reached out to touch Lin’er’s hair. Seeing her stubbornly shaking her head, he, with all the tactlessness of a straight man, slid his hand under her neck and hugged her.
Lin’er’s eyes widened in surprise. It was the first time Qin Xuan had been so forward, and she couldn’t help feeling awkward, clenching her fists under the covers.
"Why are you blushing?" Qin Xuan noticed the flush on her cheeks, puzzled.
Lin'er: What? I’m furious! Absolutely furious!
She rolled her eyes at him, wanting nothing to do with this clueless brother.
"Should I turn off the light?" Qin Xuan, not quite sure where he’d gone wrong, checked the time—it was nearly midnight, and they had class tomorrow.
"Mm..." Lin'er squeezed out a reply. Qin Xuan took the hint and switched off the bedside lamp, plunging the room into darkness.
But once the lights were out, the drowsiness that had threatened Qin Xuan vanished. Perhaps, with his vision limited, his other senses were heightened; he felt that the person in his arms was exceptionally soft, even through the layers of clothing...
Just as Qin Xuan’s mind drifted, Lin’er edged closer, her lips near his ear. "Brother..."
Qin Xuan’s ear tingled, catching the fresh mint scent of Lin’er’s toothpaste.
"Still smell like medicine?" She purposely breathed out a few times, making Qin Xuan shudder as goosebumps rose.
The medicinal scent was much reduced, but this new sensation was... awkward.
"Are you a pervert? Why do you like breathing on people so much?" Qin Xuan resisted his restlessness, holding Lin’er’s chin to stop her from breathing on him again.
"Bah!" Lin’er shook off his hand, losing interest in teasing him any further—the good mood was ruined!
She ignored Qin Xuan, lay flat, and soon drifted off to sleep.
Early the next morning, Liu Ruoxi pushed open the door and saw the two sprawled messily across the bed. For reasons unclear to herself, she felt a surge of irritation.
She slapped Lin’er’s backside, and even Qin Xuan wasn’t spared, rousing them both. Only then did Liu Ruoxi nod in satisfaction.
"What was that for? I’m on leave!" Lin’er opened her eyes, looking innocently at Liu Ruoxi.
"Oh..." Unbothered by any embarrassment, Liu Ruoxi replied forcefully, "Hit the wrong person!"
Lin’er: What? So I deserved it?
Left alone in the room, Lin’er, bored, turned on Qin Xuan’s computer. She’d intended to play a game—her skills weren’t great, but at least she could handle a round of poker!
Yet, after booting up, she inexplicably clicked on the calculator icon on the desktop...
"Huh?" Lin’er stared at a disk named "Study," curiosity piqued. She clicked inside, only to find it perfectly clean. That couldn’t be right—it should be packed!
Driven by curiosity and a touch of compulsion, Lin’er pulled out her phone to search for answers.
Oh? Hidden folders?
Following the instructions on her phone, Lin’er set to work.
Half a minute later, her face burned crimson as she stared at the screen... Who would have thought Qin Xuan was like this!
Meanwhile, in class, Qin Xuan suddenly felt a jolt, as if his most treasured, hidden possessions had been uncovered. He began to wonder where he’d slipped up...
Lin’er bit her lip. You’ll see! I’ll delete it all!
Ten minutes later, Lin’er looked at the empty recycle bin, satisfied.
"Wait, that’s not right! I could’ve used this to threaten him!" Only after deleting everything did she realize, but it was too late to recover...
Oh no! Lin’er felt she’d missed a golden opportunity—a billion lost!
She slapped her forehead in frustration. Next time, she’d be more careful! No, wait—maybe there’s more?
With this thought, Lin’er gripped the mouse and continued her search.
Just as she was combing through for the second time, Qin Xuan rushed in, sweaty and anxious. With only the first period to attend today, Qin Xuan remembered the solid-state drive a high school classmate had practically forced upon him. Yes, a classmate forced it on him!
Lin’er eyed the flustered Qin Xuan, seemingly aware of his purpose.
"Brother..." Qin Xuan heard her tone, saw the open disk window, and knew disaster had struck.
"If I say it’s a misunderstanding, would you believe me?" Qin Xuan swallowed, testing the waters.
"I believe you!" Lin’er beamed, clearly up to no good. Qin Xuan knew that smile—she meant to blackmail him.
"A chicken drumstick every day!" Sure enough, Lin’er’s demand was... actually, not so bad.
"Alright! Deal!" Qin Xuan agreed without hesitation, then went to search through the computer.
Seeing this, Lin’er said triumphantly, "Don’t bother—I deleted everything!"
"You..." Qin Xuan stared at her in shock, checked the recycle bin again. She was ruthless!
"Stop looking at that nonsense! It’s bad for you!" Lin’er declared righteously.
"Fine... fine," Qin Xuan closed the laptop, resigned. Well, gone is gone. It was just a collection, though it was a pity about those rare ones...
