Before long, Liu Ruoxi returned and, spotting Qin Xuan sitting at the computer turning it on, couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.
“Aren’t you going to wash your face?” Liu Ruoxi clenched her fists and said, “It just feels so weird!”
Qin Xuan: ...
Obediently heading to the kitchen, Qin Xuan felt a bit awkward.
Seeing Qin Xuan leave, Liu Ruoxi thought this wasn’t a lasting solution—she couldn’t expect Qin Xuan to wash his face every single time.
After Qin Xuan came back, he sat down and began playing chess.
It wasn’t until after four o’clock that Nan Zhiyi, rubbing her eyes drowsily, came out without hesitation and headed straight for Qin Xuan’s room.
“They’re both here…” She had originally wanted to chat with Qin Xuan, but upon entering, she saw Liu Ruoxi sitting on the bed.
“Ruoxi? Want to go out for a walk?” Nan Zhiyi immediately shifted her tone.
“What did you just call me?” Liu Ruoxi tilted her head, looking at Nan Zhiyi with full confidence.
“...Sister Xi,” Nan Zhiyi thought for a moment and then spoke with a hint of frustration.
“Hm!” Liu Ruoxi nodded with satisfaction. Not bad, you still know who’s boss!
Qin Xuan looked at Liu Ruoxi speechlessly, thinking, “You two…”
Then Liu Ruoxi jumped down from the bed and linked arms with Nan Zhiyi as they left, looking like a pair of sisters.
Shrugging, Qin Xuan returned to his game to fight for the eighth-place spot.
It wasn’t until Liu Ruoxi and Nan Zhiyi came back carrying snacks that they found Qin Xuan still sitting in his chair playing games.
“Why are you playing games again? Homebody!” Liu Ruoxi sipped her milk tea and walked over curiously to Qin Xuan.
She offered the milk tea she had already drunk from to Qin Xuan’s lips, and he didn’t refuse, taking a hearty gulp.
“Go make dinner soon, I’m tired from walking,” Liu Ruoxi pinched Qin Xuan’s hand and said.
“I’ll get that chicken dinner in no time!” Qin Xuan swallowed the milk tea, a little defiant. An entire afternoon without getting a chicken dinner?!
Liu Ruoxi ignored him, carrying the snacks and milk tea she bought for Qin Lin’er to her room.
“Sister Xi?” Qin Lin’er was lying down playing with her phone. Seeing Sister Xi come in, she obediently called out, mainly because she noticed what was in her hands…
Liu Ruoxi’s eyes sharpened. She placed the items on the bedside table and glanced around the room. Seeing the clothes hanging on the rack, curiosity led her to take one down. Holding it in her hands, she admired it for a moment, then looked at Qin Lin’er wrapped in a blanket, seeming to understand something.
“This is really…” Liu Ruoxi awkwardly tossed the clothes onto Lin’er’s head and turned to leave.
“Eh~ Sister Xi…” Qin Lin’er suddenly called out.
Half an hour later, Liu Ruoxi came out of the room looking utterly embarrassed.

Sigh, what am I supposed to do? Liu Ruoxi helplessly rubbed her forehead, then caught the aroma coming from the kitchen. She put away her worries and headed toward Qin Xuan.
At the dining table, Qin Lin’er kept lowering her head, sneaking glances at Qin Xuan and exchanging glances with Sister Xi, but both ignored her... making her feel quite awkward.
Only after dinner, when Qin Xuan went to the kitchen to wash the dishes, did Qin Lin’er lean close to Liu Ruoxi’s ear.
“Sister Xi? Have you thought it over?”
Liu Ruoxi’s ear twitched at Qin Lin’er’s breath close by. She pushed her away lightly and sighed.
“Well, I’ll only give you one night a week, so make the most of it…” Liu Ruoxi didn’t really want to be like this, but seeing Lin’er’s eyes redden during their talk earlier softened her heart.
“I knew you were the best, Sister Xi!” Qin Lin’er grabbed Liu Ruoxi’s hand and shook it happily.
Liu Ruoxi pulled her hand free, thinking, “Not giving you a hug! It’s more comfortable to be held by Qin Xuan.”
...
After washing the dishes, Qin Xuan returned to his room and saw Liu Ruoxi occupying his computer.
“Ruoxi? I’m heading to Zhiyi’s tonight,” Qin Xuan said, changing into pajamas. Seeing Liu Ruoxi nod, he stepped forward and kissed her cheek before turning to leave.
He completely missed the look in Liu Ruoxi’s eyes that wanted to punch him from behind.
Reaching Nan Zhiyi’s room, he found her still sitting at the desk flipping through an album.
“Oh? When did you take this one?” Qin Xuan looked curiously at a photo where Zhiyi was sitting on his lap.
“Just yesterday,” Nan Zhiyi lifted her head and smiled at Qin Xuan. “Not bad, right?”
Qin Xuan stroked Zhiyi’s hair and smiled, “Pretty good, much better than my shots…”
“Your photography… it’s embarrassing just to talk about!” Nan Zhiyi recalled how he had taken awful photos of her yesterday. “You should just uninstall the camera app!”
Qin Xuan had argued with her about this yesterday.
“Hey, hey! That was because you were running! It’s not my fault!” Qin Xuan protested, pinching Zhiyi’s cheek.
Zhiyi brushed his hand away. “Still bad at it? That’s no different from your gaming skills…”
Qin Xuan: You can insult me, but not my gaming skills!
Annoyed, Qin Xuan picked up Nan Zhiyi and threw her onto the bed.
“Wait till I get you back!” Qin Xuan kissed her fiercely on the cheek.
“Don’t… my wound still hurts…” Zhiyi awkwardly pressed her hand against his face.
“What are you thinking? I really want to punch you!”
...
Shortly after, Liu Ruoxi shook her head upon hearing the surprised exclamations from the other room.

But lying alone in bed, she couldn’t fall asleep no matter what. It was a bit cold...
After tossing and turning several times, Liu Ruoxi finally sat up.
Carefully, she stepped out and stood by Nan Zhiyi’s door. She didn’t know what she was thinking, her hand on the doorknob but not pressing it.
After a long moment of hesitation, Liu Ruoxi turned and went back. Forget it, she still couldn’t get over the barrier in her heart.
Maybe she should just give them a good scolding tomorrow...
In contrast to Liu Ruoxi’s thoughts, Qin Lin’er lying in bed was different. Some thoughts kept surfacing in her mind. After several deep breaths, she still couldn’t shake them off. Tormented, Lin’er pulled the blanket over her head.
The next morning, Qin Xuan and Nan Zhiyi looked at the half-asleep Liu Ruoxi and the head-down Qin Lin’er and couldn’t help but smile.
“What were you two up to last night…” Qin Xuan peeled boiled eggs for each of them into bowls, curious.
Liu Ruoxi lifted her head and glanced at Qin Xuan, sighing helplessly. “What can I do if I can’t sleep?!”
Qin Lin’er didn’t respond at all as she had already dozed off again. Qin Xuan reached out and patted her shoulder.
Forced awake, Qin Lin’er leaned on the chair, still chewing a bun, her head drooping silently.
Seeing this, Liu Ruoxi took the bun from her lips and fed it to her...
After some effort, Lin’er finally perked up. Otherwise, she might have choked.
On the way to school this time, Liu Ruoxi and Nan Zhiyi each linked an arm through Qin Xuan’s, leaving Qin Lin’er alone in the back listening to the song "A Spray of Plum Blossoms"—looking utterly pitiful...
Qin Lin’er thought it was a bit tough but still took out her phone to snap this scene and sent it to their group chat.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Lin’er sent several locked photos to Qin Xuan. He then curiously listened to the phone’s notification sound.
Taking out his phone, he saw the group chat was fairly normal, but Lin’er, why did you caption one with a selfie of yourself?
Then he saw the photos Lin’er sent him?! Goodness, things were starting to get weird...
There were a bunch of embarrassing photos of Qin Xuan, the kind he couldn’t hide. “How come I didn’t know you were taking these? Or are you just keeping them for your own enjoyment?!”
