Chapter 119: As long as you are with me, I will go anywhere!
Just as Nan Zhiyi was about to continue teasing Lin'er, she suddenly heard a distinct sound coming from the next room.
"Hmm? Why is the soundproofing here so poor?"
Qin Lin'er scratched her head in embarrassment. "It's always been like this..."
Nan Zhiyi had a sudden realization. *No wonder you...*
Qin Lin'er looked up and met Nan Zhiyi’s "I understand" expression.
"Sister Zhiyi!" Qin Lin'er stared at her, feeling both shy and annoyed.
"Uh, well, I’ll head back now. Enjoy listening!" Nan Zhiyi understood the situation, greeted her, and slipped away.
Watching Sister Zhiyi flee in such a hurry, Qin Lin'er angrily locked her bedroom door. This feeling of being left hanging was truly unpleasant!
Hearing that the noise next door seemed to have ceased, Qin Lin'er lay on her bed feeling dazed. The pleasure had vanished with a "snap"...
Qin Lin'er lay there trying to sleep, but she couldn't drift off. She didn't want to go out playing tomorrow with dark circles under her eyes! After a moment of thought, she pulled the quilt over her head.
Ten minutes later, Qin Lin'er poked her flushed face out, gasping for air. *Surely I can sleep now?!* Qin Lin'er didn't know why things had turned out like this; she hadn't actually intended for it to happen...
Next door, Qin Xuan held Liu Ruoxi in his arms as they spoke.
"By the way, you and Lin'er are going out to play tomorrow..." Liu Ruoxi said, pinching Qin Xuan’s hand with a hint of awkwardness.
"Don't worry, I know my limits!" Qin Xuan smiled at her.
Unexpectedly, Liu Ruoxi shook off his hand. "Who asked you to know your limits? Whatever Lin'er wants to do tomorrow, just agree to it!"
Qin Xuan was full of question marks. *What kind of agreement have you two reached now?* Seeing the expression on Ruoxi's face, he nodded anyway.
"Alright, alright, let's sleep. Remember to call me when you two leave tomorrow!" Liu Ruoxi leaned against Qin Xuan’s arm and specifically instructed him.
"Hmm..." Although Qin Xuan didn't understand why he needed to call Ruoxi, he agreed.
Early the next morning, as Qin Xuan was rinsing his mouth, Qin Lin'er rushed in and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Big brother, morning!"
"Hmm," Qin Xuan spat out the foam, wiped his mouth with a towel, and turned to look at her. "Good morning, little sister!"
"Hmph, 'little sister'? I'll punch you!" Qin Lin'er felt awkward no matter how she thought about that term, so she reached out and gave Qin Xuan a punch.
"My little sister, then?" Qin Xuan changed his phrasing and pinched her pert nose.
"That's better!" Seeing his gesture, Qin Lin'er let him continue pinching her nose.
"Alright, go wash up. I'm going downstairs to buy soy milk and fried dough sticks," Qin Xuan said, letting go and wiping the water he had accidentally splashed onto her face.
"Wait, let me go down with you to eat," Qin Lin'er said, reaching out to grab his sleeve.
"Fine, then I'll go back and change my clothes," Qin Xuan said, nodding at the earnest-looking Qin Lin'er.
Ten minutes later, Qin Lin'er had changed into a white gauze dress. She had tied her hair, which reached nearly to her waist, loosely behind her head with a ribbon. She looked youthful and beautiful, while Qin Xuan’s attire seemed intended only to set her off—his fashion sense was barely worth mentioning...
Qin Lin'er didn't mind at all, hooking her arm through Qin Xuan's and refusing to let go. They went to the steamed bun shop Qin Xuan usually liked; it was mostly because the skins were thin and the meat was plentiful, which Qin Lin'er quite enjoyed.
The proprietress greeted them warmly when she saw them. "Oh, young man, why only the two of you today? What would you like to eat?"
The proprietress's comment caught Qin Xuan off guard. "One steamer of fresh pork mini-buns and two bowls of congee, please."
After breakfast, Qin Lin'er pulled Qin Xuan straight to the train station. She left him in the lobby while she ran to the ticket window.
"Miss, two tickets for a train leaving within the next three hours, please. Anywhere is fine."
Qin Xuan stood in the lobby watching her figure, suddenly remembering that he had forgotten to wake up Ruoxi. He took out his phone to call her, only to find it was powered off; he must have forgotten to charge it last night.
Just as he was thinking of a solution, Qin Lin'er came running back, excited, holding the tickets. Qin Xuan’s attention was drawn to her, and he decided to contact Ruoxi later on the road.
Holding the tickets she handed him, Qin Xuan curiously looked at the name of the unfamiliar city on them, then turned to look at Lin'er in confusion.
"Where is this?" Qin Lin'er asked with equal curiosity.
"You don't know?" Qin Xuan was dumbfounded. *You're willing to buy tickets without knowing where you're going?*
Qin Lin'er hugged his arm and shook it a few times. "It doesn't matter! As long as you're with me, anywhere is fine!"
"You..." Qin Xuan stared into her eyes. Qin Lin'er didn't back down, looking right back at him. In her eyes, he saw sincerity.
"Then let's go." Qin Xuan saw that the departure time was approaching, so he ruffled her hair. Carrying his bag, he held her small hand tightly and went to find the platform.
After boarding, Qin Xuan scanned the carriage and found it was quite empty. They found seats at the back. Qin Lin'er naturally leaned against his shoulder, and Qin Xuan pulled out his earphones, giving one to her so they could listen to music together.
As the train checked tickets and departed, they both stared blankly at the buildings moving past the window.
*I really want to just run away with you like this! Somewhere where you can only be with me!* Qin Lin'er interlocked her fingers with Qin Xuan's and fantasized.
"What are you spacing out for?" Qin Xuan looked at the dazed girl and tightened his grip on her cold little hand.
Qin Lin'er snapped back to reality and stared at him. "I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice if we just didn't go back?"
Qin Xuan looked out the window and thought for a moment. "That's possible, but are you ready to get pounded by Ruoxi and Zhiyi?"
*If they don't snatch you back... then I’ll definitely fight them to the death!* Qin Lin'er thought with grand ambition, completely forgetting the times she had been pinned to the bed by Sister Ruoxi, begging for mercy...
"Take a nap. I checked, and it's a long way to go," Qin Xuan suggested, pulling her shoulder toward him. The girl clearly hadn't slept well last night; her eye bags were a bit heavy.
"Mm-hmm, just like this," Qin Lin'er said, referring to leaning on his shoulder.
Qin Xuan smiled and nodded. Only then did Qin Lin'er close her eyes, satisfied. Feeling his familiar scent, she finally drifted into a peaceful sleep. She really hadn't slept well last night; she had thought she could sleep soundly once she relaxed, but instead, the moment she thought of Qin Xuan, she became even more restless.
It wasn't until after two o'clock that she had finally fallen asleep, only to be woken up by her morning alarm.
After a while, seeing that she was asleep, Qin Xuan took out his phone and snapped a few photos of her. Looking at the photos on the screen, he saw the smile on Lin'er's lips and couldn't help but smile himself. Satisfied, he nodded and locked the photos, then specifically sent them to their group chat.
Back home, Nan Zhiyi had woken up shortly after they left. She had been hoping to go out with Sister Ruoxi, but upon seeing the photo of Lin'er leaning on Qin Xuan's shoulder, she didn't feel exactly jealous, but rather awkward. She silently renamed the group chat to "Qin Xuan and his Little Sister's Home, Plus Two Eyesores!"
