Chapter 100: Hatred and the Shift of Fate
Upon hearing Wang Jing’s words, the fat man cursed in despair, “Fucker, what kind of so-called superhero are you, just watching someone die without lifting a finger? You’re nothing but a coward, a bastard...”
He wanted to continue cursing, but Zeng E interrupted him sharply, “Are you really not going to tell me?”
With the fat man’s hopeless, vacant gaze fixed on him, Wang Jing spread his hands and said, “I never said I was a superhero!”
“Then what are you here for, just to watch the show?” Zeng E shouted angrily at Wang Jing.
“Well, if you put it that way, I suppose that’s not wrong!” Wang Jing smirked.
“Hmph! You’re dead meat, kid. I’m going to grind you into paste!” Feeling mocked, Zeng E glared at Wang Jing fiercely.
“We’ll see if you have the ability,” Wang Jing replied, raising his right arm and launching a small missile.
While Zeng E’s attention was mostly fixed on the missile, Wang Jing swiftly activated the fully charged electromagnetic cannon on his right shoulder. Almost immediately, the cannon unleashed an electromagnetic projectile traveling at nearly sixty times the speed of sound.
The bullet’s velocity generated intense heat from air friction the moment it left the barrel, causing even the hardened tip to begin melting.
In an instant, the bullet surpassed the missile in speed and struck Zeng E squarely in the chest, blasting a hole larger than a basketball through his torso front to back.
The missile then slammed into the fat man’s bloated face before falling to the ground. It did not explode because Wang Jing had locked its warhead, using it solely as a distraction to draw Zeng E’s focus and create an opening for the electromagnetic cannon.
With a sudden release of tension in his hand, Zeng E collapsed, and the fat man, ignoring the pain coursing through his body, scrambled away from the scene with all his might.
Severely wounded, Zeng E shot Wang Jing a savage, brutal glare before forcing himself to leap away, fleeing the battlefield.
Watching Zeng E escape, Wang Jing made no move to pursue. As he had just said himself, he was no superhero—not in this world, at least. Moreover, the previous shot had drained a tremendous amount of energy from the Ark reactor; he was not confident he could finish off Zeng E with the remaining power.
Besides, if Zeng E managed to land even a single blow on him causing injury, everyone in the prime dimension would suffer alongside. At that moment, Wang Jing would become the eternal villain of the prime dimension.
Shortly after Zeng E’s retreat, a helicopter arrived. Wang Jing recognized General Ross seated inside the cabin.
Ross grabbed a radio and barked furiously, “What the hell are you doing? Why didn’t you take him out? You clearly have the capability!”
Ross’s reprimand darkened Wang Jing’s face instantly, and he retorted without restraint, “I’m not your father, so why the hell should I clean up your mess, old bastard? If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll beat you up too!”
Wang Jing’s words nearly triggered Ross’s heart condition. “You are provoking the United States of America!”
“Mind your own business first! So many people have died already—I wonder how long you’ll keep your general’s position. And America isn’tI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
