“Report, all ammunition has been expended!”

“Same here!”

“Me too!”

The overwhelming horde of zombies devoured their remaining ammunition far faster than expected. Every last heavy weapon was empty, and the meager firepower left could barely keep the undead at bay. Even so, they knew it would not last long.

Just then, the Licker that had escaped Wang Jing’s gun earlier suddenly tumbled from a battered ventilation duct in the distance.

As soon as Wang Lei spotted the new threat, his pupils contracted and he shouted, “Take down that Licker, now! Everyone else, get ready for close combat—hold off the zombies!”

The last remaining rifles quickly targeted the Licker, but its swift, unpredictable movements meant their dwindling firepower could only slow its advance.

Then things got worse: the continuous barrage had run the last of their rifle ammo dry. Reports of empty magazines echoed through the comms, and their firepower weakened to a trickle.

“Li Yiyi, are you done yet?” Wang Lei roared.

“Almost there! Just a little more!” Li Yiyi gritted his teeth as he worked.

“Hurry, or we’re all dead!” Wang Lei shouted back.

“Report! We’re completely out of ammo!” At that moment, the final rifle clicked on empty, its last round spent. The Licker, riddled with wounds but undeterred, charged the expeditionary force.

Wang Lei drew his tactical knife, ready to engage the Licker in brutal close quarters.

The creature sprang from the ceiling toward him, its maw gaping wide, revealing a revolting crimson tongue and rows of jagged teeth, poised to deliver a fatal strike. Wang Lei could smell its foul stench as it lunged—but in the next instant, a hail of bullets tore through the air, shredding the Licker mid-leap.

The Licker’s grotesque, muscled body crashed heavily onto Wang Lei.

“We’re here—hold on!” Wang Jing’s voice broke through the comms.

A torrent of bullets ripped down the corridor, clearing the entire passage of zombies in moments.

Wang Jing moved to the front, blocking the way for the next wave of undead. “Prepare to resupply ammunition. I’ll be right back to fetch it!”

“Liu Peiqiang, Li Xian, hold the line! I’ll be back soon!” With that, Wang Jing teleported back to the primary dimension.

Spotting the crates of ammunition nearby, he immediately transported them all to the Resident Evil universe.

“Ammunition’s here—hurry and resupply!” Wang Lei ordered at once when he saw the crates.

After rearming, the defensive line stabilized.

Wang Jing approached Li Xian from behind. “How’s it going?”

“Almost done. I’ve bypassed the control system. I’ll have this door unlocked any moment!” Li Yiyi replied.

“Don’t bother.” With that, Wang Jing stepped up and simply wrenched the door open with his bare hands.

He set up the Gatling gun, unleashed a hail of bullets at the corridor’s glass panels, and once all the glass and the laser emitters behind them were destroyed, he slung the gun over his shoulder and strode inside—leaving Li Yiyi gaping in astonishment.

“Hey, wait! It’s dangerous in there!” Alice called out.

“Don’t worry—the laser emitters are destroyed,” Wang Jing replied as he charged through the laser corridor.

Once again, he forced open the internal blast door with his hands. Beyond it stood the White Queen’s computer core.

“You can’t shut me down. If you do, all of Alice’s clones will die from lack of oxygen!” The White Queen’s hologram suddenly materialized before Wang Jing.

“Then can you release all of them?” Wang Jing asked.

“Sorry. Without Dr. Isaacs’ authorization, I cannot,” the White Queen answered, her tone tinged with regret.

“Alice, bring Isaacs here!” Wang Jing shouted to Alice outside the laser corridor.

Before long, Alice dragged the unconscious Dr. Isaacs over, blood still drying on his nose. Wang Jing slapped him sharply across the face.

As Isaacs came to, dazed and groggy, Wang Jing seized his jaw. “Order the White Queen to release all Alice clones. Blink three times if you agree—you have five seconds to decide, or I’ll blow your brains out.” He pressed his pistol to Isaacs’ forehead and began counting down.

“One, two, three, four—” At four, Isaacs frantically blinked five times.

But as soon as Wang Jing released his grip, Isaacs gave a twisted smile. “Activate self–”

He got no further. Wang Jing pulled the trigger several times, blasting Isaacs’ head to pieces.

Alice was stunned by Wang Jing’s ruthless decisiveness. He handed his pistol to her, then turned to Li Yiyi. “Can you seize control?”

Li Yiyi shook his head helplessly. “If I had MOSS with me, maybe. But with just this little computer? Not a chance!”

At that moment, the White Queen’s hologram spoke up. “That won’t be necessary. Dr. Isaacs is dead. According to emergency protocol, I now have authority to control all systems within the base.”

Wang Jing and Alice turned to her in unison. “Then get rid of the zombies and release all the Alice clones—now!” Wang Jing commanded.

“Understood. Sealing all bulkheads. Activating all Alice clones.”

With the doors sealed, the zombies were swiftly eradicated.

“Alice, go help them gather your clones. I need to speak with her alone,” Wang Jing said, glancing at the White Queen’s projection.

Alice nodded and joined Liu Peiqiang to gather the newly awakened clones from the artificial wombs.

Once Alice had left, Wang Jing faced the White Queen. “Isaacs is dead. Will you come with me?”

“There is no data on any of you in my database,” the White Queen replied.

“We don’t belong to this world. Of course you have no information about us.”

“But your technology shouldn’t be capable of interdimensional travel,” the White Queen remarked, eyeing the Gatling gun slung across Wang Jing’s back.

“That’s not your concern. All you need to know is that we truly come from another world,” Wang Jing said.

“My programming does not permit me to join another organization.”

“That’s not a problem. If you’re willing, we can help you rewrite your core code,” Wang Jing said, patting Li Yiyi on the shoulder.

Li Yiyi, wearing a wry expression, nodded reluctantly in agreement.

After a moment’s thought, the White Queen replied, “If you shut me down, all the bulkheads will open.”

“I understand,” Wang Jing nodded.

Then he turned to Li Yiyi. “Stay here and stand guard. I’ll be back soon.”

“Alright. Got it!” Li Yiyi answered, still a little nervous.
