Chapter 129: Meeting Little Gold Again
Chu Feng quickly pried open the small box and pulled out a soft object from within. Upon unfolding it, he was stunned to see a glove.
The glove was exceptionally thin and mysterious, sharing the same mysterious cyan hue as the Crescent Moon Bow, and was covered in intricate, complex runes. Most importantly, as Chu Feng held it, he felt a strange, visceral sense of connection, as if it were a part of his own bloodline.
High above, Tu Zhong finally shook off his stupor. A sense of foreboding washed over him; the fact that the power of his Crescent Moon Bow had been blocked so easily was utterly unacceptable to him.
"Die!" Tu Zhong roared, drawing his bow nine times in rapid succession. Nine shafts of arrow light shot toward Chu Feng, sealing off every possible path of retreat.
Without time to think, Chu Feng pulled the cyan glove onto his right hand. The moment it touched his skin, the glove erupted with a majestic, overwhelming aura—one far surpassing that of the Crescent Moon Bow. It was clearly a spirit artifact of equal, if not greater, stature. Furthermore, Chu Feng felt he could command it perfectly without needing to refine it, as if the process had already been completed.
What baffled Chu Feng most was that through this glove, he suddenly established a subtle link with the Crescent Moon Bow in Tu Zhong's hands. He clearly sensed the mysterious glove exerting a pull, as if it were summoning the bow. As the arrows fired by the bow approached, they seemed to encounter a natural nemesis; under the influence of that strange attraction, all nine arrows veered off course and were completely absorbed by the glove.
*Could this glove be specifically designed to suppress the Crescent Moon Bow? Or perhaps they are a pair, and the glove is meant to be worn while drawing the string to unleash even greater power?* Chu Feng was shaken, wondering if the arrow light he had faced earlier had been absorbed by the small box itself or by this very glove. He sensed there were many unknown secrets surrounding the bow, and if his second hypothesis were true, the potential power of the bow was beyond imagination.
In the sky, Tu Zhong was pale with terror. Not only was his bow being suppressed, but it was also trembling violently in his grip, as if struggling to break free and fly toward his opponent. Realizing that his weapon was no longer under his control and fearing that it might be seized, Tu Zhong—not a man of blind bravado—bit his lip, shot a cold, hateful glare at Chu Feng, and decisively retreated.
Chu Feng watched him go with a sigh of frustration. He wanted to capture Tu Zhong and claim the bow, but without the ability to fly, there was nothing he could do. He looked down at his tattered Purple Luo Battle Armor and muttered, "It seems I have no choice but to wear the King’s Armor now."
He tucked the small box into his storage ring but decided to keep the mysterious glove on. He had a feeling it far eclipsed the bow in power. After all, the display of strength just now had been the glove’s own spontaneous awakening, without Chu Feng expending a shred of spiritual energy. Comparing that to the intense arrow light controlled by a Saint-Spirit warrior, the disparity was clear. This, he realized, must be why the box had been hidden so securely on that high platform.
Chu Feng was filled with a mixture of shock, doubt, and joy. He had never expected that Xiao Jin would have entrusted him with such an incredible artifact.
Returning to the Flying Eagle warship, the others looked at him in stunned silence. They could only feel overwhelming awe; it had only been ten years, and they could no longer fathom the heights of power he would eventually reach.
"That glove is amazing! Where did you get it?" Xu Yan asked.
"In the very place we are heading," Chu Feng replied.
Xu Yan was taken aback, then exclaimed in shock, "You've been inside the Crescent Moon Valley!"
"Why else would I dare to bring you there to broaden your horizons?" Chu Feng said with a smile.
Xu Yan gasped, realizing that this man was a monster far beyond her comprehension. Chu Feng retreated to the cabin to don the King’s Armor. During the process, he experimented with the glove, discovering that while his martial cultivation was high, his human-path cultivation was lacking; he could barely tap into the glove's true potential with his own limited spiritual energy. However, he noted that despite its thinness, the material was incredibly resilient—even his Town-Domain Sword, for all its sharpness, could not leave a single mark on it.
With a golden crown on his head, boots on his feet, and the King’s Armor draped over him, Chu Feng looked heroic and imposing, radiating a regal aura that transcended his usual elegance. When he emerged, Xu Yan’s eyes lit up. The guards were equally stunned, knowing full well what the golden-trimmed armor signified: the rank of a General of the First Order. They were not entirely surprised, however; such a peerless talent, exceeding even the legendary Yu Yang, surely deserved such an honor from the Elders.
Chu Feng remained calm and humble. He knew that while his combat strength was impressive, he might not yet truly qualify for the rank of a General in the military. He had studied the military hierarchy before leaving the Holy City: rank was tied directly to strength. From soldiers and commanders to the various tiers of Generals, everything was clearly defined. He knew that receiving the King’s Armor was a recognition of his talent and potential rather than his current standing.
When Xu Yan learned of the significance of the armor from the guards, her mouth fell open in disbelief. She had been training desperately in the Xuan Battalion to reach the seventh-tier Earth-Spirit rank, finally shedding her status as a mere soldier to become a commander. Comparing her progress to Chu Feng’s, she felt a sense of maddening frustration.
"General, I’m counting on you from now on!" she teased, clinging to his arm, leaving Chu Feng sweating in embarrassment.
Before long, the warship reached Golden Sun Mountain. Leaving the others behind, Chu Feng took only Xu Yan toward the Crescent Moon Valley. As they walked, he recounted his past ordeal there, including his experience with Xiao Yue and the mysterious nature of the giant Golden Sun Stone.
"The spirit beast sounds so cute!" Xu Yan said, her eyes gleaming at the prospect of meeting it.
They reached the cliff—the very spot where Chu Feng and Xiao Yue had fallen years ago. Standing at the edge, Chu Feng felt a surge of nostalgia. "Xiao Jin! I'm here!" he shouted, hoping that Xiao Jin and the guardian puppet in the heart of the valley would hear him.
Sure enough, the air before them distorted, forming a spatial rift.
"Chu Feng, you've come! Hurry, come inside!" A sweet, feminine voice echoed from the rift.
"A spirit demon?" Xu Yan asked, startled.
Chu Feng was equally stunned, wondering if Xiao Jin had finally emerged from the Golden Sun Stone. The two stepped into the rift and were instantly transported. When the scenery shifted, they found themselves standing on the teleportation platform.
Hovering in the air before them was a massive bird. Its feathers were a brilliant, fiery red, as vibrant as burning flames, with long, trailing tail feathers that were breathtakingly beautiful. The moment they saw it, they were transfixed, filled with absolute awe.
It was a phoenix—a legendary spirit creature with the most terrifyingly gifted bloodline among the demon race.
Chu Feng blinked, asking tentatively, "Is that you, Xiao Jin?"
"It is!" the phoenix spoke, her voice melodious and gentle.
Chu Feng finally understood the origin of the Crescent Moon Valley. It must have been left behind by Feng Yao, one of the Eight Great Heavenly Kings under the Human Emperor, who was herself a powerful demon. Xiao Jin was clearly her descendant. He felt a complex mix of emotions: he had become best friends with the descendant of the first Demon Emperor.
Though Xiao Jin’s aura was now restrained, Chu Feng sensed she was immensely powerful. She must have been the one to activate the platform, as the puppet was nowhere to be seen and lacked the precision for such a feat.
"Chu Feng, I've missed you so much!" Xiao Jin swooped down, attempting to embrace him with her wings, but at three zhang long, it was far too cumbersome.
Instead, she shifted, transforming into human form, and lunged at Chu Feng, hugging him tightly and rubbing her jade-like cheek affectionately against his. Her human form was breathtaking—delicate brows, phoenix eyes, cherry lips—an ethereal beauty that defied description.
However, the sight that left Chu Feng red-faced and heart-pounding was that she was completely, starkly naked. Her long, elegant hair, her flawless, slender body, and her graceful curves were all on full display.
Being embraced by such a peerless beauty left Chu Feng utterly flustered and embarrassed. No matter how thick-skinned he was, he could not stop his face from flushing crimson.
"Chu Feng, you finally came! I missed you to death!" Xiao Jin seemed entirely oblivious, her mind as innocent as a young
