Inside the marketing conference room of the Shen Group, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Xu Yunchuan sat in a corner, his head bowed as he recorded the meeting proceedings in his notebook. He appeared deeply focused, as if the surrounding hostility had nothing to do with him.

"Why has our sales volume dropped by twenty percent this quarter?" Li Haifeng, the marketing manager, slammed his hand onto the table, his tone laced with suppressed fury.

The department heads bowed their heads in silence, none daring to speak first.

"You all talk a big game under normal circumstances, but now that there’s a problem, no one wants to take responsibility?" Li Haifeng sneered, his gaze sweeping across the room.

Xu Yunchuan continued to ponder, thinking to himself, "A drop in sales isn't just a matter of market conditions. There are likely underlying flaws in our supply chain or marketing strategies."

Just then, Li Haifeng’s eyes landed on him.

"Xu Yunchuan, you haven't been with the company long, but why don't you tell us how this problem should be solved?"

The question was an obvious attempt to make things difficult for him. The others looked up at Xu Yunchuan, their eyes filled with mockery.

Xu Yunchuan paused for a moment before standing up, a calm smile on his face.

"Manager Li, I believe this issue can be approached from two angles." His voice was not loud, but it was clear and firm, instantly capturing everyone’s attention.

"First, looking at the data, the decline in sales is concentrated in Districts A and B, which are the primary battlegrounds for our competitors' new products. We need to re-examine our product positioning and our marketing strategies in those regions."

He paused, then continued, "Secondly, I’ve noted that the company’s marketing budget was recently cut by fifteen percent, which has directly impacted our advertising reach and customer conversion rates. If we can adjust the budget allocation to focus resources on high-potential markets, we might be able to improve the situation quickly."

The conference room fell silent.

Li Haifeng raised an eyebrow and sneered, "It sounds nice, but you're a newcomer—what makes you think your analysis is correct?"

Xu Yunchuan smiled slightly and held up his notebook. "Manager Li, these are the market data points I analyzed last night, along with potential optimization plans. If you find them feasible, they can be further verified."

His tone was neither servile nor overbearing; he displayed confidence while leaving room for discussion.

Li Haifeng let out a cold hum and took the notebook, leafing through a few pages with skepticism. His expression gradually turned serious.

"The data is clear enough, but analysis alone is not enough." Li Haifeng set the notebook down, his tone tinged with disdain. "By next Monday, I want you to prepare a complete rectification plan and submit it to me."

"Understood, Manager Li," Xu Yunchuan nodded and sat back down calmly.

After the meeting, colleagues from the marketing department gathered in small groups to discuss what had just happened.

"That rookie is pretty bold, daring to show off in front of Manager Li."

"Heh, he thinks a little analytical ability is enough to get ahead? He probably hasn't seen what Manager Li is truly capable of."

Xu Yunchuan heard the whispers but remained composed, though he understood that this "display" had made him a target.

"Since I’ve already entered the game, there’s no point in backing down now," he whispered to himself, his gaze resolute.

That night, he worked late into the evening, gathering data and drafting an analysis report for the rectification plan, even reviewing the company's sales records from the past three years. He knew this was not just a work assignment, but an opportunity to prove his worth.

The next morning, as Xu Yunchuan printed his first draft, his phone rang.

"Xu Yunchuan, come to my office."

It was Shen Qingwan on the line.

Xu Yunchuan was momentarily stunned, but he quickly gathered his materials and hurried to the top-floor office.

When he pushed the door open, Shen Qingwan was standing before the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the panoramic view of the city. She turned, her gaze landing on him, her tone calm yet indisputable. "I heard you brought up an interesting point in the meeting yesterday."

"It was just a preliminary analysis," Xu Yunchuan replied modestly, handing her the report.

Shen Qingwan took the report, flipped through a few pages, and the corners of her mouth curled upward. "Interesting. It’s more detailed than I imagined."

She set the report down and looked directly at Xu Yunchuan. "The problems in the marketing department are not as simple as just a drop in sales. I have a suggestion: re-examine the relationship between the company and its partners. This might provide a new perspective for your plan."

Xu Yunchuan felt a jolt in his heart, immediately grasping the deeper meaning behind her words.

"Thank you for your guidance, President Shen. I will study it carefully," he replied respectfully.

Shen Qingwan nodded. "One more thing: do not underestimate Li Haifeng. He doesn't like newcomers standing out. Be careful."

Xu Yunchuan felt a slight tension in his chest, but his face remained calm. "I will be careful."

A week later, Xu Yunchuan presented his rectification plan at the general meeting. He not only provided detailed data analysis but also incorporated Shen Qingwan's suggestion, adding a strategy for optimizing partner relations.

"By renegotiating the terms of our partnerships, we can secure more favorable distribution channels while reducing operational costs," his conclusion was firm and resonated with many of his colleagues.

However, when Li Haifeng saw the section regarding "budget adjustment," his face darkened.

"Xu Yunchuan, your suggestion is to cut the budgets of other departments. Do you really think a proposal like this will pass?" Li Haifeng asked coldly.

Xu Yunchuan had been prepared. He responded calmly, "Manager Li, I have taken that into account. That is why I have designed a backup plan that utilizes the company's existing resources to achieve the same goal."

With that, he handed over a second report.

The conference room erupted in murmurs; Xu Yunchuan’s composure and meticulousness earned him the respect of many.

Li Haifeng looked disgruntled but could find no reason to refute the plan. He managed to force out a sentence: "Since there is a backup plan, let’s proceed with the second one."

Xu Yunchuan smiled slightly, feeling a sense of relief.

After the meeting, Xu Yunchuan sat at his desk alone, reflecting on the events of the past few days. He knew that although he had gained temporary recognition, he had also stirred the resentment of certain people.

"What should my next move be?" he pondered silently, unaware that a cold gaze was watching him from behind.

Meanwhile, in the top-floor office, Shen Qingwan looked at the file in her hands, her eyes deep and unreadable.

"Xu Yunchuan... this person is becoming more and more interesting," she whispered to herself, a meaningful smile playing on her lips.
