107 The Grand Finale
Mo Xiangqing turned his head to look at Yun Feiyue. “Why?”
Yun Feiyue thought for a moment, then gave a faint smile. “I don’t remember. I just hate it.”
She hated seeing the people in the snow, hated recalling the snowstorm from a thousand years ago that buried herself, buried Little Mumu, and buried Mo Feiyuan.
“Do you know? A thousand years ago, it snowed. That snow buried the people most dear to me. It lasted a very long time and took many lives. Back then, the Immortal Path was still the strongest sect on the Jin Ge Continent, but after that snow, everything turned into a nightmare.”
Her hand trembled slightly as she spoke.
Mo Xiangqing nodded. “That seems like a very long time ago. I never saw it. I also hate the snow because it’s too cold. I hate anything cold, including Mo Feiyuan.”
“Why?” Yun Feiyue didn’t understand.
Mo Xiangqing smiled and shook his head. “Sometimes, hatred has no reason. It’s something born within. I feel like living has no meaning; sometimes I don’t even know why I’m alive. It’s as if respecting the will of heaven, I just linger in this world. I don’t want to live, but I don’t want to die either. I’ve never thought death was scary.”
He lifted his head, looking at Yun Feiyue with a faint smile on his lips.
Yun Feiyue was momentarily stunned, then nodded knowingly. “I understand. But I’m different from you. You’ve helped me many times, and I’ve always wanted to ask why.”
Mo Xiangqing smiled gently, his eyes distant as if recalling something sweet, for the corners of his eyes curved slightly.
“There used to be a woman in the Mo family named Ruoye. She was a year younger than me but took good care of me. She was passionate, not gentle like water, smart but lazy. The first time I saw you, I thought you resembled her. I’ve always believed in reincarnation. I dream of things that never happened but feel real. I take those as memories of a past life.”
“When you appeared, I thought she had returned. But you bear the mark of Mo Feiyuan. Ruoye was the same—she liked Mo Feiyuan, so I dislike coldness. I always thought his coldness was toward everyone, but when you came back, I realized I was wrong. His coldness is toward everyone except you.”
“Many times I couldn’t understand, but now I do. There is reincarnation in this world, yet you are not my Ruoye. I will find her. But first, I have to solve the problem before me.”
With that, Mo Xiangqing strode toward Jiushen, leaving behind a gentle silhouette as he joined the battle.
One had to admit, Jiushen was truly formidable. Only combined forces of Mo Feiyuan, Murong Qianchao, Master Zhanyun, and a few others just a step away from him could suppress him.
Yun Feiyue frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure on her face. If her strongest attack weren’t flames, would it be better? She gazed at the sky as snow fell relentlessly.
Mo Xiangqing’s arrival shifted the battle slightly, turning the tide in their favor.
But suddenly, Jiushen unleashed a forbidden technique. The moment it was activated, a powerful force swept through the blizzard and broke free.
At the center of the battlefield, waves of overwhelming energy radiated outward like ripples, flattening trees and leveling hills. The world seemed to fall into a deathly silence.
Those with strong cultivation could withstand the shock; those weaker were reduced to ashes.
At that moment, Murong Qianchao was dueling Jiushen, but the forbidden technique forced him to retreat dozens of meters, blood spilling from his mouth.
Xia Mu immediately turned to tend to Murong Qianchao, causing their formation to rapidly collapse.
Jiushen suddenly leapt forward, landing before Xia Mu. “Xia Mu, how dare you do such a hateful thing to my soul clone?”
Xia Mu turned, her face full of anger. “If you dare harm Murong Qianchao, you’re courting death!”
“That’s what I should say!” Jiushen raised a hand and slapped Murong Qianchao.
Xia Mu set Murong Qianchao down, and a surge of ghostly energy erupted from her body, surrounded by a procession of spirits. Her skin turned pale as white paper, framed by these phantoms. With a wave of her hand, the spirits flew toward Jiushen.
The two forces clashed—a true contest of strength. Yet, Xia Mu and Jiushen still had a slight gap in power.
Despite giving her all, Xia Mu was forced back and flew out. Jiushen glanced coldly at her before turning toward Murong Qianchao with murderous intent.
He raised his sword and ruthlessly thrust it toward Murong Qianchao, but Mo Feiyuan and Zhanyun simultaneously blocked Jiushen.
“Xia Mu, it seems we’ll have to settle this properly.” Master Zhanyun’s voice was loud, tinged with anger.
Yun Feiyue stood to the side, her heart pounding.
Murong Qianchao and Xia Mu’s injuries allowed the opposing side to gain the upper hand.
Yun Feiyue clenched her fists. It was time to act.
Jiushen’s strength exceeded her expectations. She had thought he wouldn’t be so fierce, but she was wrong.
She leapt forward, her fiery red gown billowing in the snow, long hair flowing.
Landing before Jiushen, she raised her hand, flames blossoming like countless red snakes flying toward him.
Jiushen only sneered coldly. “If you want to be my opponent, your current level is far too weak. You and the old you are truly incomparable.”
“Try me and see,” Yun Feiyue retorted, flames swirling fiercely. In the cold snow, the fire burned ever stronger.
Snow around her turned to mist, transforming the scene into a fairyland. She struck swiftly, delivering lethal blows.
Yet she also realized her current strength was not at its peak, making it difficult to truly face Jiushen.
Biting her lip, she forced herself to fight. He had already destroyed too much, and she could not let him continue.
They clashed again, both pushed back simultaneously.
Jiushen sneered and leapt forward to attack Yun Feiyue, only to be blocked by Mo Feiyuan.
Jiushen stared at Mo Feiyuan for a long moment before laughing. “How annoying! The thing I hate most is seeing you two so close, brother.” His eyes gleamed with murderous rage.
Mo Feiyuan raised his sword and unleashed the Meteor Ice Sword technique. Countless shards of ice fell from the sky, hurtling toward Jiushen.
Jiushen swept his hand to block the ice, releasing a powerful aura around himself. The collision of forces pushed them both back.
Blood dripped from Mo Feiyuan’s mouth, and Jiushen was no better.
Jiushen hummed lightly before suddenly turning toward Murong Qianchao.
“Killing either of you first is fine. You’re all doomed!” he spat.
He struck a heavy slap. Murong Qianchao, still weakened from earlier wounds, could not resist.
A sharp crack echoed.
Blood sprayed, staining the white snow red, and the world seemed to fall silent.
Xia Mu took the blow meant for Murong Qianchao, flying backward several meters.
Fortunately, Mo Xiangqing stepped in to block Jiushen.
At that moment, Yun Feng appeared, carrying the will of the Yun family to protect Yun Feiyue.
In his hand was the Yun family’s heirloom sword, his expression cold and solemn. Clad in green, he stepped through the snow.
Yun Feiyue was surprised to see Yun Feng, but even more so when Jun Shaomo arrived.
Jun Shaomo held a sword closely following Yun Feng, her long green dress flowing across the snowy earth like a snow elf.
Yun Feiyue had no time to persuade them to leave; the battle was urgent. She trusted they could protect themselves but worried nonetheless.
She turned her gaze to Xia Mu convulsing and coughing up blood, the snow around her stained red.
Staring blankly, she thought of her senior brother from a thousand years ago.
When she first entered the Immortal Path, she was the most gifted Fire Spirit maiden. Her master had high hopes and taught her diligently.
That day was bright and sunny. Xia Mu and Murong Qianchao took her on a tour of the immortal mountain. They chatted happily.
Murong Qianchao was somewhat proud, while Xia Mu was very easygoing.
She was happy then but unaware that Xia Mu was growing increasingly unhappy.
Xia Mu helped her unite with Mo Feiyuan. At first, she thought Xia Mu was kind to her, but later she learned otherwise. Xia Mu only wanted her to leave.
On the day she married Mo Feiyuan, rain fell outside. Mo Jiushen slaughtered most attendees and stormed off in anger. That wedding was bloodier than any in this lifetime.
Later, Mo Jiushen killed Yun Feiyue and Mo Feiyuan’s son, using the child’s flesh as a drug ingredient to ascend to godhood.
To avenge this, there was the 300-day War God Day, during which they united to seal Jiushen.
That year, heavy snow fell. Mo Feiyuan died in battle. Yun Feiyue invited her master, Xia Mu, and Murong Qianchao for aid, but fighting a godlike Jiushen was too difficult.
To seal Jiushen, she sacrificed her body, forcing his soul to split.
That same year, because of her death, Murong Qianchao blamed Xia Mu.
Xia Mu looked at Murong Qianchao with a gentle smile. “Back then, your junior brother said that if I hadn’t helped your junior sister be with Mo Feiyuan, she wouldn’t have died. So you’ve hated me for over a thousand years. Are you still hating me now?”
Murong Qianchao stood beside him, expressionless, ethereal as ever.
“I lost interest in hating you long ago. You just overthink.”
Xia Mu smiled brightly, like a praised child, blood streaming from his mouth. “Then, even if I die, I will die in peace.”
He looked at Murong Qianchao like a beloved deity, with reverence and affection.
Normally, Yun Feiyue would have found this repulsive, but due to their past entanglements, it felt natural.
Xia Mu reached out, seemingly to grasp Murong Qianchao’s hand. This time, Murong Qianchao did not recoil but instead firmly held his hand.
Xia Mu’s smile was radiant, as if the happiest person in the world.
“Go in peace,” Murong Qianchao rarely spoke words of comfort.
Xia Mu brightened even more. Suddenly, he turned to Yun Feiyue. “Junior sister, I have something to tell you.”
Yun Feiyue nodded. “Speak, senior brother.”
“I bound a contract between you and part of Jiushen’s soul through the Crimson Lotus token.”
Yun Feiyue was startled; Murong Qianchao’s expression darkened. “You say the ghostly energy is part of Jiushen’s soul?”
Xia Mu nodded. “So, sorry, but if you want to destroy Jiushen, you must die. Your souls are bound; if you die, he dies too. His existence is to protect you. I knew you would return, so forgive me for this day…”
There was guilt in his eyes. Murong Qianchao shook off Xia Mu’s hand, her eyes filled with anger and disappointment.
“You really can’t bear to see junior sister alive.”
Yun Feiyue was surprised but not as angry as she expected. More precisely, she was angry but didn’t know whom to blame. Perhaps this was fate.
“Don’t blame senior brother. At least he told us how to deal with Jiushen, so we don’t all die at his hands.”
She looked up at Mo Feiyuan and Jiushen not far away.
“If I die, senior brother, please take good care of my Little Mumu and Mo Feiyuan. They must be safe…”
Yun Feiyue spoke and turned, stepping toward Jiushen.
With each step, her strength grew stronger as she fully unleashed the seal on her body’s clouds.
Now, she had to fight for her life. This battle belonged to her.
“This time, I will send you to death!”
Jiushen looked at Yun Feiyue and suddenly laughed. “You think you can kill me like this?”
“Try me,” she said.
She broke the seal and leapt toward him.
The battle ignited swiftly.
The flames around Yun Feiyue now blazed fiercer than ever, burning her own true energy.
“This time, let’s fight properly!”
Flames lashed at Jiushen; his water surged toward her.
Fire and water clashed—true energy at its peak. Neither side could gain overwhelming advantage; their powers were unexpectedly matched.
Yun Feiyue urged the fire; Jiushen summoned water.
Mo Feiyuan would not just watch. He and Mo Xiangqing attacked Jiushen swiftly.
Yun Feiyue knew that with this power, she could not win. She was essentially courting death.
She had prepared for death when coming here, so she was unafraid, even feeling liberated.
Though reluctant, these grudges had to be severed—and she knew only she could do it.
Like a fluttering red butterfly, she edged closer to Jiushen.
Jiushen did not expect her to risk everything and felt a trace of panic.
That panic allowed Yun Feiyue to approach and strike his chest.
Jiushen quickly regained composure, eyes wide as he glared at her. “You think this can kill me?”
Yun Feiyue shook her head. “I never think that. So I will send you to the underworld.”
The incantation sped up; the voice grew louder.
Only now did Mo Feiyuan realize what was happening. He tried to stop Yun Feiyue but was blocked by the powerful formation and murderous aura. Forcing his way in would only harm her.
But what else could be done?
Just watch?
“Don’t. If you leave, I will never forgive you…” His voice pierced the heavens.
Yun Feiyue closed her eyes, giving herself no time to think.
Her body and soul were consumed by the flames within the formation—another self-detonation to take Jiushen with her.
She felt her body grow light, her mind clouding.
She seemed to hear Little Mumu’s voice. “Mother.”
She seemed to hear Mo Feiyuan’s voice. “Wife.”
But the voices faded.
That white-clad figure was destined to leave her. Was this fate?
She didn’t know.
She had never believed in fate, but now she seemed forced to.
Her mouth opened as if to speak, but no words came.
She gazed at the sky, watching the snow fall.
The pure white snow was her most hated thing—cold and merciless.
She loved the radiant sunshine, endless laughter, Little Mumu’s joyful smiles, she loved…
But now she could no longer love.
The world grew silent, peaceful as if nothing had happened.
She could no longer see.
She heard strange sounds.
The Reincarnation Mirror fell silently to the ground.
Mo Feiyuan rushed over but found only torn clothes—no body remained.
Only the Reincarnation Mirror.
“No!” A piercing scream echoed through the world, chilling the heart.
Murong Qianchao looked at the vanished Yun Feiyue without speaking. His demonic face was stiff as ice.
Yun Feng and Jun Shaomo came running, searching for Yun Feiyue’s body everywhere.
Mo Shi’er, Mo Xiangqing, You Tong, Han Cheng—all silently watched Mo Feiyuan, as if afraid to disturb his sorrow.
Mo Feiyuan only picked up the Reincarnation Mirror, then staggered away like a drunken man, disappearing into the vast snow.
—
Inside a Las Vegas casino, the atmosphere was lively. Crowds gathered around gambling tables.
This was the showdown between the casino queen and several challengers—could the undefeated legend continue?
But Queen Yun Feiyue had been lost in thought for a long time, not announcing her bet.
Finally, she sent a message in a strange mixed language with Chinese: “eon, baby, big or small?”
Only then did Yun Feiyue come back to herself, tears streaming down her exquisite face.
No one knew what had happened to her. She didn’t know either.
“Why am I here?” she asked in confusion.
A nearby underling reminded her, “Queen, this is the second round. You must beat your opponent.”
She suddenly remembered—this was her previous world. She had returned to before crossing over?
So it was like this…
Everything that had happened before seemed like a dream, a solitary dream of hers. But how could she have fallen asleep at the gambling table? Even the timing fit perfectly.
Had she been dreaming?
She turned her head to look at the bet beside her—the Reincarnation Mirror.
She touched the mirror and instinctively looked toward the casino entrance.
Snow was falling in Las Vegas, the flakes striking the doors and windows beautifully.
At the doorway stood a cold man in ancient white robes, holding the hand of a beautiful child like an elf.
Everyone in the casino turned to these two, who seemed almost unearthly.
The man exuded a chilling aura like a crimson lotus; the child resembled a doll.
Yun Feiyue was stunned but smiled.
They approached her slowly. The child held a bronze mirror similar to hers.
At last, they stopped before her, and the child accused, “Mother, why do you keep drifting through time? Hmph, Little Mumu misses you to death. Come back with me now.”
“Madam, we’ve come to fetch you.”
Yun Feiyue opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.
Countless emotions surged within her—shock, joy, but most of all, happiness.
Mo Feiyuan gently wiped the tears from her cheek.
“Good girl, did you miss me?”
Yun Feiyue nodded, revealing a radiant smile. She had thought she was doomed, thought their last parting was eternal.
Thankfully, they found her.
“If you leave me again without permission, I’ll die to show you.”
“Is that a threat?”
“Yes! It’s a threat!”
“Alright, I won’t again.”
She nestled in his embrace, basking in his warmth, content and happy. The end.
