Kuihan and Long Yao had fought for a long time, exhausting a great deal of spiritual energy. The Dragon-Slaying Stake had been destroyed by Yang Nan, and Kuihan, captured, no longer had the strength to resist. The remaining monsters, seeing their master trapped, howled desperately, attempting to come to his aid. Ni Cai raised a formation flag in her hand, which transformed into a glowing purple magical array, emitting streaks of lightning that firmly blocked their path.

Six monsters were slain—one cut down by Yang Nan, another swallowed whole by the Golden-Top Great Peng—leaving four master-level monsters. Without their master, they were panic-stricken and lost all fighting spirit. Before long, they were all ruthlessly killed by Yang Nan, Chi Yang, and others working together.

Yang Nan waved the Xuanming Yinsha Flag, upon which six ghostly heads opened wide and spat out the wind-attracting flag. Yang Nan then activated the Undying Yin Wheel to convert demonic energy, beginning to refine the first Xuanming Yinsha Flag. The wind-attracting flag was made of excellent material; after refining it into a second Xuanming Yinsha Flag, black mist rolled off it, giving it a strange and eerie aura.

With a wave, Yang Nan absorbed the souls of the fallen masters, using the six master monsters to refine one Yin God.

Long Yao and Ni Cai, seeing Yang Nan’s bizarre methods, secretly felt alarmed. After successfully refining the six master monsters with the Undying Yin Wheel to drive the Soul Condensation and Spirit Transformation Technique, Yang Nan indeed gained another six-armed Yin God!

This Xuanming Yinsha Flag’s power was in no way inferior to the previous six-headed Yin God flag. Having yet another magical artifact made Yang Nan inwardly joyful. He turned to Long Yao with a smile, saying, “My friend, forgive my jest. I learned this technique from disciples of the Demon Sect. Though it seems ruthless, it merely uses unforgivable sinners for refinement. I hope it does not offend you.”

Long Yao and Ni Cai’s expressions softened somewhat. While capturing souls and refining demons was hardly righteous, as long as Yang Nan did not kill innocents to refine the demon flags, it was not too grievous. After all, cultivators often killed demons to obtain pills or craft magical artifacts.

After killing six masters, Yang Nan took the Universe Rings from the six monsters, which contained the pill souls of more than a dozen cultivators, their colorful radiance of excellent quality.

The true forms of the six monsters appeared upon death. Their bodies were mysterious materials suitable for refining artifacts. Yang Nan divided the six corpses among the three of them, and Chi Yang immediately sealed four of the corpses within Universe Rings.

Ni Cai, benefiting from this, sighed, “These people rushed in recklessly, unaware that a fiercer foe awaited, and lost their lives instantly.” Kuihan was fierce and tyrannical, wielding the Dragon-Slaying Stake. How could master-level cultivators survive against him? Yet Yang Nan had destroyed the stake and captured the son of the Demon Saint alive.

Yang Nan distributed the Universe Rings among the three, laughing, “There are exactly fifteen rings, so each of us takes three. Whether the contents are good or bad, I don’t know. But if there’s a primordial treasure, let’s keep quiet about it!”

Long Yao laughed softly at his exaggeration, “If they had primordial treasures, would they come here to die? The best things are yours now; you just take the advantage and act humble.”

Yang Nan was taken aback, “What good things have I gotten?”

Long Yao pointed to the Jiangshan Ring on his hand and said with a smile, “Kuihan had a Dragon-Slaying Stake, an immortal-grade magical treasure. It traps enemies and is invincible. I don’t know how you escaped, which is truly admirable.”

The stake had a remarkable origin? Yang Nan was stunned and suddenly understood why Kuihan was so surprised at his escape.

Long Yao continued, “Seventy-two Dragon-Slaying Stakes spew seven kinds of strange flames continuously, and unless protected by a peerless treasure, anyone below the venerable level would be burned to ashes. The stake was the signature treasure of the Lion Saint Kui Xing. Now that it’s in your hands, be careful if he finds out. Kuihan’s true form is a three-headed golden-maned lion. You must not leave him alive.”

Yang Nan nodded gratefully. Although everyone had a part in killing Kuihan, the most important treasure had fallen to him. If the Lion Saint Kui Xing came looking, he would surely come for Yang Nan first.

A saint-level expert was no trivial matter!

“I won’t use the treasure for now. Since I destroyed the stake, it won’t be restored quickly. We’ll discuss this later. For now, let’s enter the main hall to find that divine treasure iron.”

Yang Nan didn’t worry much. The five present were all killers; who would confess to Kui Xing that they had slain Kuihan?

Long Yao nodded and led them into the main hall. The hall was lined with massive pillars. After a long walk, they reached the end. Most cultivators who had entered earlier had already been slain by Kuihan. The survivors would be searching side chambers or elsewhere for treasures, likely not daring to enter the main hall yet.

Long Yao stopped before a white jade door and smiled, “This is the armory of the Demon Saint Yuan Jia. If there’s treasure, it must be here.”

Yang Nan’s expression brightened. Although he wasn’t greedy for the Thirty-Six Luo River Heavenly Secret Maps, it would be rare to see such treasures.

A protective formation still guarded the jade door. Ni Cai concentrated on breaking it down—a skill he was known for. Yang Nan could do little but watch with Long Yao and Chi Yang.

After much effort, the light around the door faded. Ni Cai exhaled deeply, “Fortunately, this formation isn’t as formidable as the Nine Yuan Turtle Shell Formation outside, or I’d be powerless.”

Yang Nan was delighted at being so close to the treasure. He laughed, “Your skill is remarkable. Breaking the door is a great achievement. The Nine Yuan Turtle Shell Formation won’t be hard to handle next.”

Behind the door was a vast storage room. Strange objects floated in midair. In the center stood a great cauldron, from which protruded a glowing pillar emitting dazzling rosy light. Long Yao, ecstatic, cried out, “The Divine Sea Treasure Iron! It’s really here!”

Yang Nan, seeing her joy, curiously examined the pillar—the prototype of the legendary Golden Cudgel from later eras. Though radiant, the divine iron appeared dark and unremarkable. Yong’er suddenly leapt out, eager to release divine light to absorb it. Having lost much divine light in the Dragon-Slaying Stake, how could he resist?

Yang Nan quickly called him back, smiling, “Yong’er, you must not absorb that. If you did, Princess Long Yao would surely be furious with me.”

Yong’er’s small face showed great disappointment, eyes dripping with desire for the iron. But since his master forbade it, he reluctantly returned to the small copper coin.

Since even Yong’er acknowledged this iron as a treasure, it was indeed extraordinary. Long Yao stored the divine iron in a Universe Ring and smiled at Yang Nan, “Friend Yang, you truly obtained the Divine Iron. This hall’s contents belong to you.”

Long Yao was not greedy; she came solely for the iron and was delighted to have it, showing no desire for other treasures.

Just as Yang Nan was about to reply, the white jade door suddenly crumbled into powder. A woman in blue robes entered slowly. She was plain in appearance, but her eyes were unnervingly strange—deep and cold like two unfathomable oceans that chilled the heart. She walked calmly into the hall, as if all five inside were already dead.

She looked at Long Yao and smiled, “Princess of the Dragon Palace, no wonder Kuihan fell to your hand! If Kui Xing learns of this, he’ll be furious beyond words!”

Long Yao’s face changed drastically. “Venerable Blue Star of the Phoenix Valley!”

A halo of spiritual light hovered above her head, radiating overwhelming murderous aura—a true sign of a venerable!

The blue-eyed woman’s gaze flashed coldly, saying lightly, “Since you know me, why haven’t you left yet? If not for your Dragon Saint Xiao Hai, you wouldn’t leave the Yuan Jia Cave today!”

Fear filled Long Yao’s face. Without waiting for Yang Nan to ask, she pulled them back, “Let’s withdraw first!”

The blue-robed woman exuded such overwhelming power that Yang Nan had the illusion of seeing his master Bu Xu. Her aura was so strong that even the halo alone could intimidate all cultivators present.

Venerable-level cultivation was far beyond their match. Yang Nan secretly felt awe. When Long Yao pulled him back, he did not hesitate. No matter how many treasures, life was more important.

As the woman’s blue eyes swept over Yang Nan, a beam of divine light suddenly erupted from them as she shouted, “Long Yao may leave, but you must stay!”

Before she finished, Chi Yang was ready. His Fire Sun Sword transformed into a massive blazing blade, slashing down toward her instantly!

Buzzing sounds echoed as the giant sword tore through the air. Chi Yang, a master, unleashed tremendous power with a single slash, like a colossal fiery pillar crashing down with terrifying momentum.

The blue-robed woman seemed to vanish into thin air for a moment. The giant sword passed through her, cleaving into the ground and leaving a deep crack.

Her body shifted from intangible to solid, her blue robes fluttering as she suddenly stood atop Chi Yang’s giant sword, smiling disdainfully, “A mere soldier sect member dares to be so insolent before me?”

The scorching sword was crushed beneath her feet like a child’s toy, utterly harmless.

From the moment she spoke, Yang Nan knew this would not end peacefully. He sneered, “Venerable Blue Star, we have already withdrawn from the armory and yielded the treasures. Why the hostility?”

This Blue Star’s desire to keep them was clearly ill-intentioned. The five masters here, though weaker than a venerable, were not necessarily defenseless. Yang Nan promptly summoned his magical weapon—a black moon-shaped blade—and stood alert.

The Blue Star’s face was cold as ice. She said chillingly, “I am determined to obtain these treasures! If you swear allegiance to Phoenix Valley, I will spare your lives.”

Yang Nan laughed heartily. Such a monster dared to speak so brazenly, demanding humans serve her? A mere lower-rank venerable with such arrogance! The Kunlun Sect could easily slay her if they sent even one venerable. Yang Nan did not truly fear her. If he couldn’t win, he would simply flee.

Suddenly, Yang Nan’s Black Snake magical weapon expanded immensely, becoming a giant curved blade that slashed down viciously!
