224 The Blood-Colored Succubus (Four-in-One, Seeking Subscriptions!)
Goliath was momentarily dazed.
On the Sword Terrace, the torrential rain was like a sky pierced through, a galaxy overturned, rushing down in a vertical deluge. A vast, ancient dragon’s roar echoed around the fractured firmament, drowning out the sound of the rain. It descended from the heavens, yet it felt as if it originated from the very depths of her soul, drumming against her eardrums, scouring her dantian, and shaking her spirit.
Lightning, like a whip of fire, lashed the earth. Thunder exploded, like a giant celestial hammer shattering the dome of the sky.
Rain blurred Goliath’s vision, washing over her exquisite, painting-like face. Her loose, azure Cloud澜 Sect robe was soaked through by the downpour, becoming translucent and clinging tightly to her voluptuous, snow-white form. Yet, even so, there was no trace of disarray or lewdness in her demeanor; instead, she appeared all the more towering and majestic, a goddess-like presence defying the inverted pillars of rain.
She turned her head to scan the surroundings of the Sword Terrace. The disciples of Sword Peak were still foolishly practicing their swordsmanship, ignoring the torrential rain. The newly respawned Senior Brother, Senior Sister, and Junior Brother even exhibited a degree of interaction with the weather.
Junior Brother: "It’s raining, let’s go hide in the bamboo forest and catch some squirrels to roast. Barbecuing in the rain is the most fun, and we can only continue practicing once we’re full!"
Senior Sister: "Regardless of the weather, one must strive to practice the sword. Rain or shine, only then can one reach the end."
Senior Brother: "Heaven sends a great mission to a man, he must first... *cough cough*, the storm is the will of heaven, and the way of the sword requires the will to slay the heavens to transcend one's own limits."
At least the three of them knew it was raining. The other disciples remained oblivious, following their programmed routines, merely serving as background.
Aili, hiding at the edge of the bamboo forest, was shocked by the scale at which the Captain was controlling the weather using Dragon Spirit. She had used bamboo stalks severed by sword energy to build a makeshift shelter, remaining on the front lines of the spectacle. "Has the Captain already become this powerful? Perhaps... he really might be able to defeat Big Sister Goliath!"
Goliath looked up for a long time, equally bewildered. "He only drank a jar of Dragon Spirit soup, is it really worth such an exaggeration? Is this a special effect from the training pod, or his hacker skill?"
At the edge of the bamboo forest, Aili shouted a warning to Goliath: "Big Sister Goliath, be careful! These aren't special effects, nor are they the Captain's hacking skills. Dragon breath is gathering in the clouds!"
No sooner had Aili spoken than a wave of dragon breath swept down. It was like a tornado—not particularly fast, but it carried an oppressive force akin to divine might. At the center of the dragon breath, a ripple suddenly expanded, converging directly above Goliath's head.
"A critical spiritual pressure of only level fifty, yet pulling off the aura of level one hundred?" Despite her words, Goliath dared not be careless. She prepared to use a rapid flash to dodge the dragon breath. However, the breath followed her movement. No matter where she ran, the central ripple of the dragon breath tracked her head with unerring precision. At the same time, the wind, rain, and lightning around her all converged on her, attempting to drag down her already sluggish movement.
Seeing no way to avoid it, Goliath simply stopped dodging. "Playing tricks, are you? Watch me cleave you with one strike!"
Goliath steadied her form and slashed upward at the dragon breath above her head, barely breaking through the critical strike. The center exploded with a deafening roar, spreading outward in ripples...
At the same time, another sword pierced Goliath. It struck an inch below her chest, avoiding all vital organs and nerve clusters.
The storm ceased. Lu Chen revealed his form behind Goliath.
Aili, at the edge of the bamboo forest, was dumbfounded. She had clearly warned Goliath to be wary of the Captain's invisibility, yet the result was the same defeat. If the Captain had pierced Goliath's heart, her dantian, or decapitated her, she would have already lost. Lu Chen had given Goliath enough face, not avenging the earlier broken hand, merely piercing her... that was all.
"If my strike hadn't been this precise, you would be dead... Admit defeat, Goliath!"
"Huh?" Goliath’s wet, delicate brows furrowed, and her aura surged instantly. She took her own sword and thrust it through her own dantian, canceling out Lu Chen's act of mercy. "Didn't I tell you I'm the Mother of the Version?"
Next, she pulled out Lu Chen's sword and turned to strike at him. With a sword through her lower abdomen, she paid no mind to the spiritual energy dissipating from her dantian, hacking wildly at Lu Chen!
Lu Chen jumped back in fright, putting a safe distance between them, and scolded her: "What kind of monster are you... playing dirty, are you? Even in reality, you can go berserk and keep fighting after your dantian is punctured?"
Goliath, unashamed, even found it beautiful. She spun in place, admiring herself with the sword run through her belly. "It’s not a problem in reality, either; it might just trigger some magic."
Lu Chen nodded, thoughtful. "Thank you for the tip!" As he spoke, he bit his right index finger, drawing blood. He resonated his own bloodline with Goliath’s across the space. After all, their bloodlines had long since fused, making resonance easy. The blood at Lu Chen's fingertip instantly shattered into a blood mist, which then formed a line in the air, connecting with the blood flowing from Goliath’s abdomen.
"What are you doing?" Goliath looked blank.
As soon as she spoke, the Demon-Suppressing Seal within her... loosened. She instantly transformed into a demon, her entire body covered in a faint layer of black demonic flame. A pair of cat ears sprouted from her head, a long cat tail emerged from behind, and sharp claws grew from her hands and feet. In the blink of an eye, she had completely turned into a giant cat form.
Lu Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief. "You said using magic means I win... I won."
This was not a particularly slender fat cat; its form looked like a shadow with its fur standing on end after an electric shock, blood-red patterns flickering in its eyes. Goliath’s body remained inside the demonic flames, having completely passed out, her body taken over by the cat-shaped demonic fire. It was exactly the same as the incident on the giant grass planet in the Zu'an Nebula. Besides, this was just a virtual training pod. It wasn't a big problem.
Lu Chen thought of Aili and quickly ran to the edge of the bamboo forest to find her. Aili had been so frightened she was covering her ears and eyes. It wasn't until Lu Chen arrived, held her shoulders, and used soul resonance that she calmed down and regained her senses.
The problem now was Goliath. "Aili, Goliath has turned into a demon in the training pod. She won't transform in reality, will she?"
Aili steadied her mind, keeping behind the Captain and trying not to look at the demonized Goliath, and explained: "That won't happen. The training pod has a self-destruct program; Big Sister Goliath will fall into a coma to stop the demonization process... Of course, she's already in a coma."
Lu Chen felt things were getting tricky. "Then what should I do? I certainly can't kill a demonized Goliath. Do I just wait for her to wake up? By the way, I could exit the training pod and pull her plug..."
Aili stifled a laugh and shook her head. "That might damage Big Sister Goliath's nervous system!"
Lu Chen nodded thoughtfully. "True, her brain isn't exactly functioning well to begin with."
"The Captain should try to redeem her with love."
"Redeem a Void Demon with love?"
"First, let Goliath's black cat swallow you, then your bloodlines will fuse, just like that time in the Zu'an Nebula... I've always been afraid of Void Demons, so I won't disturb you. I'm going to the Imperial Spirit Peak next door to cultivate. I'll come out when I'm done!"
With that, Aili happily flew away on her sword, disappearing from Sword Peak.
"Redeem with love..." Lu Chen wasn't sure if Aili was assisting him or pushing him into a fire pit. Aili might even be hiding somewhere to keep watching the show. However, Lu Chen had to face this demonized fat cat, Goliath. Rehearsing it in the training pod was fine; if she lost control in reality one day, at least he would have a solution.
Thinking this, Lu Chen turned back to the Sword Terrace. At this moment, the demonic fat cat seemed to be struggling. It hadn't chased Lu Chen earlier, and it wasn't attacking him now. The giant black cat was just standing there in a daze, its demonic flames burning violently, swaying and twitching.
"What's wrong?" Lu Chen didn't understand. He leaped into the flames of the Void Demon fat cat, preparing to retrieve the Demon-Slaying Sword. If he could get it, he might have a chance.
However, a bizarre scene occurred. As soon as Lu Chen entered the demon's body, he was pushed out by a strange force, as if sliding out, without even a trace of demonic fire on him.
"Strange..." Looking back at the black cat, Goliath, who was lying flat within the flames, suddenly began to bleed from the sword wound on her chest. "She had clearly stopped bleeding after demonizing... Why is she bleeding again? Does it have something to do with me jumping in?"
In a blink, the black cat was stained red by Goliath’s blood. It turned into a red cat, and the demonic flames turned blood-colored. Even more magically, the Demon-Slaying Sword held by Goliath was dissolved by the blood-red flames until it completely disappeared...
The cat's spiritual pressure climbed continuously, soon exceeding the limit of what Lu Chen could perceive. In a flash, the black demon became a blood demon! The red-patterned cat eyes vanished, replaced by a single eye cracking open on the cat's forehead. The eye revealed even more complex, unbearable-to-look-at red patterns. The shape was strange, yet it tempted one to look again. It made Lu Chen’s scalp tingle, his blood rush to his head, and it was hard to remain calm.
This was... a one-hundred-percent Succubus bloodline! Was this really Goliath? Fortunately, this was just a training pod, and Goliath was still lying within the blood demon.
Suddenly! The blood-colored succubus spoke. "Who are you? Why would Goliath push you away?"
A female voice. It sounded like Goliath, but much colder and more towering, as if she were a terrifying abyss giant. She actually referred to Goliath as "Goliath," not "I." Lu Chen felt a chill down his spine, his hairs standing on end, and he gritted his teeth as he replied: "I am your father!"
The towering female voice said: "Goliath has no father."
Lu Chen was stunned. What kind of talk was that?
The blood-colored succubus added: "Trusting instinct too much will eventually destroy everything... The training pod cannot save this man."
Having said that, she opened a giant blood-filled mouth towards Lu Chen... not metaphorically, it really was a giant crimson mouth like a bloody basin. Lu Chen instantly felt a powerful suction, as if his soul were about to be pulled in. His body and soul were on the verge of separating! Fortunately, Lu Chen received no danger warning. So he simply lay flat and let it happen, not resisting at all. However, his soul was locked tightly into his body like a rivet, causing his body to fly along with his soul into the blood demon's giant mouth.
Just then! The blood demon's eyes froze instantly. The crimson demonic shadow slowly dissolved, like smoke and dust, soon dissipating into nothingness.
Lu Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief, but still found it too strange. "...Goliath can actually control a demon to dissolve itself, rather than letting the demon core self-destruct?"
The demonic flames dissipated, and Goliath fell from the air, slowly drifting down. Lu Chen quickly caught her. Her body was light as a feather, her face pale as death. She had no breath of life left. She was dead. Whether she died from blood loss or suicide, it was unclear. In any case, the Goliath character in the training pod was dead. Her body dissipated into nothingness, and her consciousness would return to the welcome lobby.
Lu Chen suddenly recalled a fact: the unconscious Goliath couldn't distinguish between the training pod and reality. Her unconscious mind didn't want to hurt him, so she pushed him out of the demonic flames? She really is... I’m going to cry!
"Who was that blood-colored succubus?" Could it be that a complete succubus was sealed within her? Or was it some deeper subconscious?
Lu Chen quickly left Sword Peak, returned to the welcome lobby, and prepared to ask Goliath herself. However, Goliath had already logged off. Lu Chen had to log off as well. He woke up from the training pod, opened it, and stepped out. He put on his clothes and glanced at Goliath's training pod, finding it lying flat. Goliath hadn't emerged; she was lying in the training fluid, staring blankly, looking a bit dazed.
Lu Chen opened Goliath's training pod and carried her out. Goliath, covered in training membrane, looked like a child in the womb who had suddenly seen a man. She stared blankly at Lu Chen. "Who are you?"
Lu Chen thought, *Oh no, this girl's brain really is burnt.* "I am your father!"
"I have no father."
As she said this, Goliath seemed to remember something; a glimmer of clarity returned to her eyes, her pupils reflecting Lu Chen. "Lu Chen, is that you?"
Lu Chen hadn't expected the training pod's aftereffects to be so strong. Goliath had been so immersed she hadn't returned to reality until now. "It's me."
Goliath looked around, her eyes still a bit confused. "Where is this... are you still alive?"
Lu Chen nodded. "It was your suicide that saved me."
Goliath frowned, suddenly recalling the fight in the training pod. "Fool, how else would I get out if I didn't commit suicide? I didn't save you; I definitely blew myself up to get you out."
Lu Chen couldn't be bothered to explain further and reminded her seriously: "You should play less in the training pod; it hurts your brain."
Goliath curled her lip. "Did I win?"
Lu Chen hadn't expected her to forget the win or loss. "You used magic; you lost."
Goliath bared her teeth. "That was an off-the-board rule; I won in terms of strength."
Lu Chen didn't indulge her. "The rules were set; a win is a win, a loss is a loss. There's no difference between on or off the board. Next time you want to win, just set a rule that the winner must be a woman, wouldn't that work?"
Goliath felt the heavy sarcasm in Lu Chen’s words and didn't bother to bring up the victory again, staring at him with a resentful expression: "Have you held me long enough yet?"
Lu Chen then remembered he was carrying the nearly naked Goliath horizontally. He loosened his arms, letting her drop. Goliath screamed in fright... fortunately, Lu Chen was already crouching, opening his arms to catch her again, perfectly pulling her back.
He said righteously: "Not long enough!"
Lu Chen thought, although Goliath was heavy to hold, the scenery was beautiful and the feel was smooth, so it wasn't a total loss. Goliath breathed a sigh of relief, feeling dizzy. She looked around. "Where's Aili?"
Lu Chen said, "Aili is still in the Cloud澜 Sect continuing her practice. She was the one who told me to redeem you with love."
*Redeem me with love? Am I someone who lacks love?* Goliath snorted coldly: "Useless. Void Demons cannot be redeemed. Besides, your cultivation is too low. If it were in reality, and I demonized after being bled by a Demon-Slaying Sword, it would be hard for you to suppress me with bloodline resonance like last time... Simply put, you are too weak."
Lu Chen didn't believe it at all. "In reality, who would use an ancient Demon-Slaying Sword against you? Let's go take a bath. As long as we supplement enough magic and improve our resonance fusion, I will continue to suppress you."
Goliath’s delicate brows twitched, and she nearly blushed. "Fool, who would take a bath with you?"
Lu Chen kept a straight face. "Don't waste Aili's painstaking efforts. It's rare for her to practice in the training pod; she won't be peeping at us this time."
Goliath: "..."
...
In the bath pod, Goliath soaked into the semi-circular tub first, covering the water surface with bubble bath. She leaned against the edge, drinking and recalling the memories from when she was unconscious...
Lu Chen followed, wrapping himself in a bath towel and stepping into the water. The tub was truly large, the temperature was right, and bubbles were bubbling up from the bottom, providing a massage effect. Lu Chen still felt lingering fear about the blood demon, so he actively moved to Goliath’s side and offered his wrist to her mouth. "Drink some of my dragon blood; it can suppress demons."
Goliath tilted her head. *Does drinking Dragon Spirit soup give you dragon blood?* "Tch, I have Dragon Spirit wine, why would I need to drink your blood?"
Lu Chen retracted his left arm. "Then I'll drink your blood. You're already level fifty-eight; the magic-supplementing effect might improve."
Goliath quickly pulled back her right arm. "That’s a paid service."
Lu Chen had no extra money left. "Did you forget where your three thousand spirit stones came from? That was what I earned from teaching Aili how to bet."
Goliath was stunned. "Doesn't that make it even more infuriating?"
Lu Chen hadn't expected her jealousy to be so potent. "If I let you bet, wouldn't it be a total loss? Anyway, didn't Aili split half with you after winning?"
As he spoke, he took Goliath's right hand and bit through her blood vessel.
"Mmm..." Goliath shivered, instantly losing her focus. Lu Chen tasted it carefully. Her demonic blood tasted even fishier. Fortunately, the magic-supplementing effect was stronger. Lu Chen sipped slowly for an hour before satisfiedly releasing Goliath's wrist. He then digested the demonic blood, combined with Marrow-Cleansing Pills and Blood-Explosion Pills, and soon leveled up! From level forty-six to level forty-seven.
Goliath watched him cultivate while drinking, and suddenly asked: "If you drink my blood too much, what will you do if you turn into a demon one day?"
Lu Chen slowly opened his eyes. "What era is this? A person's appearance isn't important; what matters is the soul. Void Demons are people too, and demon lives are precious!"
Goliath didn't buy his nonsense, saying gloomily: "If you demonize, you will surely be a world-ending level monster; you might even destroy the universe."
Lu Chen smiled, spreading his hands. "Admitting I'm powerful now?"
Goliath curled her lip. "Powerful? Just special. For example, if the universe has a loophole, and that loophole is you, and if this loophole continues to expand, it might destroy the universe—does that prove you're a powerful person? You'd only be powerful if you could fix the loophole! Besides, this is just your potential. How much of it have you actually realized, you fool?"
Reasonable and convincing! Lu Chen thought, *a loophole... aren't transmigrators just the loopholes of this world? Or rather, transmigrators bring loopholes to the world.* This woman's intuition was terrifyingly accurate; even a random example was right in some mysterious way. However, having learned the Gray Crow's Myriad Phenomenon Resonance and Algernon's Critical Strike Power back-to-back, even if he was still a novice, anyone would think too much.
"Don't worry, since my resonance bloodline can suppress your demonic flames, I definitely won't demonize."
Goliath was thoughtful. "Common methods are difficult, but if it were double cultivation, it’s hard to say... Like this time when you drank the soup, if Aili’s plan hadn't succeeded, I might have taken my body to drag you into demonization."
"That would also be fine. You, a Void Demon, are living freely in the human world, why couldn't I?"
Thinking it over, Lu Chen still asked about the earlier incident. "Earlier, after you demonized and fell unconscious, the blood from the sword wound seeped out, staining the entire monster red, as if someone else had replaced you. A complete-form succubus appeared—also a woman—and that woman asked me who I was."
In fact, Goliath was also trying hard to recall this. "How did you answer?"
Lu Chen replied truthfully. "I said I am your father."
Goliath spat out a mouthful of Dragon Spirit wine, sighing: "You said that, and you're still alive..."
Lu Chen quickly followed up: "So, who was that woman?"
Goliath shook her head. "I don't know. The Mistress says it might be my true form, or it might be my mother."
Lu Chen was stunned, feeling it was somewhat ridiculous. "The succubus circle is really chaotic!"
Goliath shrugged her steep shoulder blades. "To solve the demon population problem, Void Demons can reproduce parthenogenetically. Didn't you even know that? I originally thought I had a father, but the Mistress said that was unlikely. You said you were my father—regardless of whether it was my true form or my mother, they wouldn't spare you... In short, stop shooting your mouth off in the future, otherwise, if you die by my hand one day, I won't even know."
*Ha, as long as the Danger Avoidance Guide doesn't react, even if a fairy stood in front of me, I'd still shoot my mouth off!* *Parthenogenesis is fine...* Lu Chen thought, *no matter the race, population is a big problem. Perhaps only the Interstellar Zerg have no population problems. But ordinary Zerg are just tools for the Mother Zerg. Zerg have no individualism. Perhaps... Zerg-humans are the answer.*
"I won't die by your hand. Your subconscious can't bear to part with me; it would rather commit suicide than let me die." Lu Chen said with a smile, feeling very warm inside.
Goliath would never admit to this. "Are you an idiot? I was unconscious, how could I commit suicide? It must have been my mother or my true form seeing some potential in you, interested in your future, and sparing your life for now."
Lu Chen laughed: "Is that so? You clearly said earlier that the suicide was to exit the training pod; why have you changed your story now?"
"You—" Goliath's tone choked, her beautiful, painting-like face instantly stiffening.
Lu Chen took advantage of the situation. "Given that you saved my life in the training pod, I’ll reward you with a kiss."
"You dare!" Goliath stared at Lu Chen with wide eyes, waiting to see if he dared.
Lu Chen ignored the threat and leaned in. Just as Goliath was about to close her eyes—Lu Chen suddenly lowered his head and bit towards her chest. He wanted to gamble on a surprise attack!
As a result, Goliath, having regained her senses, kicked him across the tub, nearly breaking his tailbone. In the end, she didn't forget to coldly taunt him: "You're too weak."
Lu Chen clutched his tailbone, gritting his teeth in pain. *Almost... just a little bit more and the gamble would have paid off!* What a pity. This woman is so flirtatious, yet she won't let him touch her. And she even called him weak...
Lu Chen suddenly frowned, as if he understood something. *Wait, was Goliath hinting that doing this has some potential danger? For instance, it might easily draw that blood-demon woman out. Could it be that I just need to be strong enough?*
Lu Chen thought: *I don't want to do anything else. I just wanted to take a bite! This is a reward for... cough, a reward for her! Kissing her would ruin the atmosphere on the spaceship. Kissing her chest is just being lecherous. The nature is different. I'd rather bear the infamy of being a lecher or a pervert than talk about any love triangles on the spaceship.*
*Wait, she seemed to close her eyes earlier... What kind of pure-hearted succubus is this?* Lu Chen felt a chill.
Just as he was thinking! His treasure map reacted. It hadn't even been twenty-four hours since the *White Dew* set sail, and the treasure map was already reacting. Sure enough, as the team got stronger, the treasures increased!
"Tch, I'll eventually drink your blood from that spot." Leaving Goliath with that sentence, Lu Chen got up from the bath, excited. He quickly dressed, turned, and went to the cockpit, leaving Goliath in the tub, completely bewildered.
*What a pervert, what a dog of a man. He got kicked, yet he's still excited? Could it be he provoked me to kick him on purpose? Is he a masochist? I must find a chance to wear black silk stockings for a few days, not wash my feet no matter how much I sweat, make them stink, and stuff them in his mouth while he sleeps!*
Thinking this, Goliath sipped her Dragon Spirit wine, feeling much better.
On the other side, Lu Chen piloted the spaceship straight towards the target airspace indicated by the treasure map. It took two hours of flying for the level fifty new ship to arrive! This showed that the treasure map's reconnaissance range had expanded.
Arriving at the target airspace, let alone a star system, Lu Chen didn't even see a celestial body or a meteor. There were no black holes or storm turbulence, either. This was a relatively quiet airspace, very rare in the later sections of the Morning Mist Route. Lu Chen searched a space within one light-minute and found nothing. The spaceship's radar showed nothing either.
"That doesn't make sense!" Lu Chen regretted only defining the target range instead of pinpointing it precisely for the fun of exploration. Wasn't this just looking for trouble for himself? Unfortunately, there was no regret medicine. Who could have known he'd transmigrate after hacking?
Lu Chen turned and went to the bath pod, waking the drunk and sleeping Goliath. "Wake up, we have work to do."
Goliath woke up groggily, her mind still filled with the image of stinking black silk feet stuffed into Lu Chen's mouth. "What work?"
"Big work!"
Subsequently, Lu Chen went to the training pod and found Aili's pod. He pressed the one-touch wake-up function to wake her. The pod lid opened, and Aili emerged from the training fluid. Wrapped in a translucent, thin training membrane, she shrank her petite, budding figure, still somewhat reserved. "Captain, next time you can connect to the spaceship’s light screen to wake me up directly!"
Lu Chen appraised Aili's figure and nodded seriously. "Good, go take a shower quickly, we have a mission."
"Mm!"
...
Goliath and Aili soon returned to the cockpit together. Lu Chen said seriously: "I feel there's some strange treasure nearby, but I'm not sure exactly where. Goliath, your cultivation is high; you take manual control and observe with your divine sense to see if you find anything. Aili, put on the Spirit Amplifiers and help me look."
Aili nodded earnestly, immediately taking out the wrist-mounted Spirit Amplifiers and connecting them to the ship's radar to achieve divine sense amplification. Goliath, however, delayed, asking suspiciously: "Since you can't find it, how are you sure there's something here? Don't tell me you just felt it as we passed by."
Lu Chen nodded and said seriously: "We passed by, and I felt it."
Goliath: "..."
Just then, Aili made a discovery. "Found it, Captain. It seems to be a sleeping star-beast ship... to be precise, a star-insect ship!"
*Aili is the best!* Lu Chen quickly massaged Aili's shoulders, excited: "Good, Aili, you pilot the ship and fly to where the radar can display the target, then stop."
So, Aili sat in Goliath’s pilot seat. She manually piloted the new *Lioning* and brought it to a spot thirteen kilometers from the destination, just enough to receive a radar signal. In interstellar space, thirteen kilometers... was equivalent to being right in its face! Lu Chen thought, *no wonder I couldn't find it earlier; being able to detect it only within thirteen kilometers is no different from being invisible.*
The *Lioning*'s radar signal showed: This was a level fifty firefly spaceship. It was just over a hundred meters long, a high-level star-insect with some stealth capability. Looking at the radar signal, it was a heavily modified giant firefly. The insect was comatose but still biologically active and not completely frozen. Suspiciously, this star-insect ship had no identification code from the Empire, the New Federation, or the Adventurers' Association.
"There might be surviving humans inside. Captain, be careful, I feel something is wrong!" Aili warned.
Lu Chen was already rubbing his hands, eager to try, ignoring Aili’s warning: "It's fine, I'm stronger than the level fifty-eight Goliath now!"
Goliath: *Endure.* Let Lu Chen show off; she didn't want to explore inside a bug anyway.
Aili asked again: "So, are we going to rescue them?"
Lu Chen shook his head. "I hope we're just collecting corpses. Even if it's a rescue, it's a high-priced service."
Having said that, he turned, went to the rear cabin, entered the *Ghost Knight*, and flew out of the new *Lioning*. He then deployed the imposing mecha form! This was the *Ghost Knight*'s first mission. He was going to win a beautiful victory!
