Chapter 112: Overseas Visitors, Arrogant and Overbearing, Resorting to Murder
The figure in the purple robe above gradually became clearer—it was a man. Beside him, two others appeared: a man and a woman, dressed in long garments of cyan and white respectively. Their attire resembled that of ancient times, hands clasped behind their backs as they stood at the bow of the ship. Each emanated a powerful aura, hinting at extraordinary abilities.
“I warn you once more, halt immediately!” the Ice Fairy spoke, undeterred by the earlier patrol boat being overturned. “If you wish to come ashore, state your identity and purpose first.”
Though a hint of hostility radiated from the newcomers, no orders had come from above, and these individuals seemed somewhat dangerous. Yet, she was reluctant to escalate matters beyond repair and issued her warning again, fully confident those aboard the sea vessel could hear her. Nevertheless, the three paid no heed, and the ship pressed onward.
Closer. Then even closer.
Gu Sang and the Ice Fairy both clenched their fists, hesitating whether to issue a stronger warning. The Pure Yang Little Master furrowed his brows—though they had heard the warning, why did they persist?
With a thunderous sound, the sea vessel reached the shore, slowing to a gentle stop. Three figures—two men and one woman—leapt down without a word. Behind them, more figures appeared on the ship, all dressed in purple, cyan, and white robes, totaling over thirty. They landed on the shore, their eyes scanning this side with curiosity mingled with a condescending air.
The trio led the group, while those behind seemed of lesser strength and status.
“Is this the land of today? Indeed, the power of heaven and earth here is rich—surpassing the islands,” one said thoughtfully. “Training and evolving here would be far swifter than before. We should have come sooner.”
“Enough talk,” the young man in the purple robe declared. “We carry a mission from our sects.”
He appeared no older than twenty, hair long and tied high in the ancient style. To an unknowing observer, he might resemble an actor on some historical drama set.
“Please, state your identity, origin, and purpose,” Gu Sang took a deep breath and stepped forward, his tone polite without accusation. He knew the patrol boat crew were unharmed and thus was not inclined to quarrel—his priority was to discern their intent.
“People from the land have begun evolving as well?” the woman in cyan narrowed her eyes.
The purple-robed leader glanced at the Pure Yang Little Master and his companions with blatant disregard before speaking: “We are disciples of the three islands of Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingzhou. Amidst the great transformation of heaven and earth, we learned the land bears immense fortune.”
“We have come under our sects’ orders seeking a place to cultivate and evolve—preferably a sizable one.”
He spoke bluntly, then added, “You do not appear to be the authorities. Summon your sect leader or local officials.”
His tone was arrogant, unwilling to explain further, desiring only a territory and showing no interest in negotiating with the Ice Fairy and the others. His manner bore no trace of modern civility, as if truly stepped out of ancient times.
The three leaders: the man in purple belonged to Penglai, the man in white to Fangzhang, and the woman in cyan to Yingzhou.
Gu Sang said nothing immediately, pondering the meaning behind their words. Were they proposing cooperation? Yet the Ice Fairy was displeased by their attitude. She stepped forward and said, “We might discuss cooperation, but you overturned our patrol boat—an explanation is warranted.”
She knew well that even outsiders treated by the authorities with courtesy and deference; yet these people were unbearably arrogant, treating them with disdain.
“An explanation? For ramming our ship?” the cyan-clad woman, holding an ancient sword, stepped forward. “Allowing them to avoid drowning is mercy on our part.”
She continued, “There is no need to explain to you. Bring your sect leader.”
Her tone was proud and forceful, tinged with impatience. The three islands had once been called the land of immortals by those on the mainland. To her, the Ice Fairy and her companions were beneath contempt.
“We have warned you repeatedly, yet you turn a deaf ear and now accuse us?” the Ice Fairy, no longer able to tolerate, retorted.
“Shut up!” the cyan-clad woman frowned, then without hesitation advanced. Instantly, a powerful aura surged from her—she was clearly at the Shackles Realm. She appeared before the Ice Fairy, raising her right hand as if to strike, her demeanor arrogant and overbearing.
“Junior Sister Ji!” Gu Sang rushed forward, but the white-robed man also moved, stepping forward to unleash a punch.
Known for his physique, Gu Sang did not retreat, meeting the blow with his own punch.
Boom!
Their forces collided, but as Gu Sang was only at Awakening Realm and the white-robed man at Shackles Realm, Gu Sang was instantly overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, the Ice Fairy evaded the woman’s strike by summoning a chill around her, narrowly dodging the slap.
“Senior Brother Zhao Yuan, it seems the people of the land refuse to negotiate. No more words—let’s force their sect leader out!” the woman shouted angrily, oblivious to her own arrogance.
“Agreed. Let’s heed Junior Sister Zhang Yun’s advice,” said Zhao Yuan, the disciple from Penglai. The three islands shared close ties and addressed each other as senior brother and junior sister.
He gave a signal, intending to display the might of the three islands.
So what if the land’s people had gained extraordinary strength from the heavenly transformation? The Three Immortal Islands had long concealed themselves within a fold space.
No need for politeness.
At his command, over thirty disciples from the immortal islands stepped forward, nearly all at Awakening Realm. Their combined power stirred the air, almost forming a miniature storm.
“Attack!” the Pure Yang Little Master ordered, unwilling to endure further. Gunfire erupted, targeting the three islands’ disciples.
Zhao Yuan and the others, unfamiliar with such weapons, sensed the danger.
They immediately joined forces, extending their hands to unleash a special divine technique. In an instant, the ocean surface surged, raising towering waves.
The Ice Fairy attempted to freeze the waves, but the sheer volume and suddenness rendered it impossible.
Crash!
The surging waves swept away everyone on the shore.
Seizing the moment, the few from the Three Immortal Islands produced ropes to bind Gu Sang, the Ice Fairy, and others. All those bound were at Shackles Realm—powerful enough that the ropes, made from sacred tree bark, could not be broken. The armed soldiers behind them fared no better; nearly a hundred were dead or wounded.
Ten minutes later, the outcome was clear: the Three Islands had won, though they suffered casualties from underestimating the firearms’ potency.
“Are these the weapons used on the land now?” Zhao Yuan squinted, gun in hand, eyes glinting coldly.
“They are mere trivial tricks. True strength comes from cultivation and evolution,” Zhang Yun scoffed, her anger rising when she saw injured comrades. “Senior Brother Zhao Yuan, I must kill more of them!”
“Kill if you wish—no need for mercy. But those three must be kept alive,” the white-robed man from Fangzhang ordered, pointing to the Ice Fairy and her group.
They had come with a sect mission, so total slaughter was out of the question.
“Understood.” She immediately struck down over a dozen more, mercilessly.
The Ice Fairy and others, eyes bloodshot, struggled against their bonds in vain.
“Don’t waste your strength. The Immortal Binding Rope is crafted from sacred bark by our sects,” Zhang Yun sneered. Though ineffective against immortals, it was perfect for Shackles Realm cultivators.
“Speak, what exactly do you want?” the Pure Yang Little Master took a deep breath, anger flaring even in his transcendent state.
“Nothing more than this: from today onward, part of the land must belong to the Three Immortal Islands,” Zhao Yuan approached, finally explaining. In other words, they demanded a portion of the land to be ceded to their control.
He knew talking to these few was futile, so he decided to release one to seek those in charge, keeping the rest as captives.
Gu Sang and the Pure Yang Little Master agreed to let the Ice Fairy leave, hoping to spare her life. No one knew what fate awaited those captured, and now was no time for hesitation.
Though previously warned, it was necessary to inform their superiors: these visitors bore ill intent.
The Ice Fairy understood and knew it was not the time for stubbornness.
Once freed from the binding ropes, she looked at the Pure Yang Little Master and the survivors. “Wait for me.”
With that, she left to report the matter immediately to Elder Ji.
“Remember, you have at most seven days,” Zhang Yun of Yingzhou warned coldly.
The three said no more, waiting on the spot and dispatching scouts to assess the land’s current situation in preparation for what was to come.
As the Ice Fairy departed and time passed, news of the incident spread.
By the shores of the Bohai Sea, emissaries from the Three Immortal Islands had arrogantly provoked conflict, seizing the Pure Yang Little Master and others as hostages, and demanding the official cession of several territories.
This, unsurprisingly, sparked heated debate online.
