By evening, I had met twelve versions of Fu Yunshen. Except for the one who was married, each was odder than the last: an uncle-type, a mama’s boy, a foot-sweating miser... Fortunately, none of them were the target I intended to pursue.

Exhausted, I collapsed onto my bed as soon as I got home. No sooner had I lain down than my phone screen lit up.

It was a message from Fu Yunshen!

“I’m hungry. I want to eat the food you cook!”

Couldn’t he just eat out or order takeout if he was hungry? I set the phone down, planning to ignore it.

Then another message popped up.

“I’ll pay fifty thousand yuan for one meal!”

I took a taxi to Fu Yunshen’s villa. Seeing his face, I cleared my throat twice. “What do you want to eat?”

He smiled. “Anything will do.”

I headed to the kitchen, with Fu Yunshen trailing close behind.

The fridge was stocked with ingredients I had bought earlier: tomatoes, lettuce, meat—not much, so I couldn’t cook a grand meal.

I asked, “Do you want noodles, or rice with a couple of stir-fried dishes?”

He countered, “Which one’s quicker?”

“Definitely noodles!” I answered without hesitation.

Fu Yunshen: “Then stir-fried dishes it is!”

I thought about it and agreed without much thought. “Alright.”

After tying on my apron, I started chopping and washing vegetables. Fu Yunshen crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. His height of one meter eighty gave him a slender silhouette, his upper body broad and lower body lean. He quietly watched me.

“How did your blind dates go today?”

Fu Yunshen looked on as if watching a show, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.

My knife paused briefly. “Not bad.”

He said nothing, just stared at me. He had seen every one of those blind dates—each worse than the last.

He couldn’t understand why I broke up with him, why I’d rather go through these mismatched dates than be with him.

I quickly made tomato scrambled eggs, stir-fried meat with green peppers, and a vegetable soup.

After placing the dishes and rice on the table, I pulled out my phone. “Mr. Fu, please pay up!”

Fu Yunshen didn’t look at his phone, only scrutinized my face. When he didn’t get the reaction he wanted, his tone grew cold.

“It’s too lonely dining alone. Stay and eat with me first, then transfer the money.”

I thought, it’s just sitting for a bit; no big deal. I agreed.

Seeing my consent, a mischievous gleam appeared in Fu Yunshen’s eyes. He stood and suddenly produced a bottle of red wine.

“You want to drink?”

I asked, puzzled.

His face showed no emotion. “Yes, a little. Do you want some?”

“I don’t drink. You can have it.”

I refused outright. My stomach couldn’t handle it anymore unless I wanted an early death.

Fu Yunshen nibbled a few bites, then started drinking glass after glass. His face flushed red by the end. I couldn’t help but urge him, “Fu Yunshen, stop drinking. You’ll get drunk.”

He blinked his narrow eyes, staring at me. His cheeks were rosy, voice plaintive. “Lu Xiaoyu, why don’t you want me anymore?”

I was taken aback. Was he really drunk already?

He swayed as he stood, unsteady steps toward me, nearly falling. Quick as a flash, I steadied him.

“If you can’t handle it, don’t drink.”

After settling him on the sofa, I snatched the wine glass from his hand and set it on the table.

Suddenly, his grip tightened on mine, pulling me straight into his chest.

I tried to pull away, but Fu Yunshen held me tight. His warm breath brushed my ear, sending a pleasant shiver.

He said, “Lu Xiaoyu, please don’t break up with me.”

His cheeks were flushed as he clung to me, as if terrified I’d leave. His eyes shone brightly, resembling a pitiful little dog.

Unable to resist, I ruffled his hair messily. It looked like a bird’s nest, but Fu Yunshen wasn’t angry—he gazed at me foolishly.

“Xiaoyu, please don’t break up with me.”

He repeated the plea. My smile dimmed slightly. If I could, I wouldn’t want to break up either.

But I don’t have much time left. If I don’t act quickly to win him over, Xiao Bai will be affected too.

Besides, Fu Yunshen is so outstanding. His feelings for me were probably fleeting; in the future, he’d marry someone equal to him in status, background, and appearance.

“Xiaoyu, look at me. Don’t break up with me, okay?”

Fu Yunshen cupped my face in his hands, forcing me to meet his gaze.

I whispered, “Fu Yunshen, you’re drunk.”

He lowered his eyes, looking wronged. “Xiaoyu doesn’t want me... You tied me up, then you’re going to leave me. You’re so cruel... Boohoo...”

My heart softened a little. It seemed that was the case. By that logic, I was the villain.

“I’m sorry...”

“I don’t want your sorry. I want you to make up with me. I want Xiaoyu to stay with me forever...”

Fu Yunshen hugged me tightly, his eyes full of love. For a moment, I thought he was faking it. But looking closer, his eyes were glazed, and his cheeks flushed.

I didn’t reply, softly coaxing, “Yunshen, be good. Stop this, and let go of me, okay...”

Right now, Fu Yunshen was like a child—his intelligence probably low. But I was wrong. He was stubborn, hugging me even tighter.

As I struggled, he boldly kissed me.

The taste of alcohol lingered on his warm lips, soft as jelly, with a sweet wine fragrance between his teeth.

I tried to push him away, but then reconsidered. Fu Yunshen was drunk, with no memory afterward. If I didn’t take advantage now, when would I?

Thinking that, I wrapped my arms around his neck. The drunken kiss was less gentle than before—more wild, possessive, and domineering.

Just as the kiss deepened, Fu Yunshen’s hands began to wander. I immediately stopped him.

Breaking the kiss, he looked pitiful, eyes misty and reddened lips full of a different kind of charm.

“Xiaoyu, I want kisses~~”

Help! Fu Yunshen was so good at teasing. At that moment, my heart completely melted, and I kissed him back.

Soon, the atmosphere became intimate. His hands brushed my waist lightly—a sensitive spot for me. The entire living room turned sensuous, the temperature rising...

When I woke in the morning, my whole body ached softly. Embarrassing, indescribable scenes flashed through my mind. Fu Yunshen and I had been wildly at it many times—from the living room to the bedroom...

Watching the sleeping Fu Yunshen, I tiptoed to lift the covers and slip away.

But as I moved, he opened his eyes. “Xiaoyu~”

I gave an awkward smile, my mind a tangled mess. “Um, you were drunk last night. Let’s just pretend nothing happened! It was my first time; you didn’t lose out.”

After saying this, I tried to pull back the covers and get out of bed calmly, but Fu Yunshen held me tightly.

He looked tall and slim, but his figure was impressive. When our skin touched, I shivered all over.

“Let me go.”
