Volume One, Chapter 20: Just Do It!

“Welcome once again to all our viewers from China tuning in to the live broadcast of the eighth Global Finals of the Divine Arena!”

“After a grueling five rounds of competition, only 256 teams remain on the Divine Arena stage, continuing their journey toward the championship.”

“In theory, with 256 teams spread across 200 countries worldwide, each country should have at least one team still competing.”

“However, the reality is quite different. Over 100 countries have been completely eliminated, and nearly 50 countries have only one or two teams left.”

“Unfortunately, China is among those 50 nations.”

“But fortunately, the Qilin Team from China, which has survived to this stage, crushed the runner-up Samsung Team from Korea in the previous round with overwhelming strength, showcasing extraordinary skill!”

“This means we have every reason to believe Qilin Team can continue leading China forward bravely, perhaps even reaching the global top 48, just as Wang Yao and Captain Wang have confidently predicted!”

“They might even claim the championship of the eighth Divine Arena Global Finals!”

“Although we don’t know exactly when Qilin Team will begin their next matches, let us, all Chinese viewers, unite to cheer them on!”

At eight o’clock the next morning, the sixth round of the Divine Arena officially commenced.

As soon as the global live feed connected, the Chinese commentators stirred the passion and fighting spirit of all the Chinese audience with their rousing voices.

Everyone understood that with only 256 teams left worldwide, each one would be formidable.

If the Qilin Team truly wanted to achieve a miracle and break into the global top 48, they must give their all to defeat every opponent ahead.

At worst, they cannot afford their score to dip into the negative and face elimination!

“Go, Qilin Team! Charge ahead!”

“Captain Wang, rise up! Show your opponents the unstoppable power of your fearless Sion strategy!”

“And the other four must step up too! Play to your full potential and stop holding Captain Wang back!”

As the Chinese commentators finished, the live chat flooded with heartfelt cheers and blessings from Chinese fans.

But soon, hostile messages from foreign viewers appeared as well.

[Korean Fans]: In round seven, Qilin Team will surely lose! Most of our teams have thoroughly studied the ‘deathmatch Sion’ strategy these past days. If they dare use it again, defeat is guaranteed!

[British Fans]: I don’t know where your confidence comes from, China. Out of the global top 256, the UK, Korea, Japan, the US, Ukraine, and other powerhouses occupy over 150 spots. That means Qilin Team will lose against any one of us!

[Japanese Fans]: Please hurry up and start your round six matches, Qilin Team. Our eight teams are ready and waiting to snipe your matches as soon as you do!

[Indian Fans]: India joins in—not just for glory, but to topple China from its position as the most populous nation after beating your team!

...

The global chat was abuzz with frenzy, yet inside China’s National Battle Operations Center, the atmosphere was tense.

Not because anyone doubted Qilin Team, but because everyone wanted an absolutely foolproof victory in round seven.

“Captain Wang, Qilin Team currently has 20 points. Even if you lose one match and drop to zero points, you won’t be immediately eliminated, but that would make round eight extremely risky,” Head Coach Chang Guangming said gravely.

“So we must secure a solid win in round seven!”

“Of course, Coach Chang. It’s not just round seven—we have to win every match going forward,” Wang Yao replied calmly, confident that Qilin Team would not fall.

“Indeed, we should underestimate no enemy strategically, but tactically, we must respect them,” Chang Guangming nodded thoughtfully before analyzing.

“In the previous five rounds, the strongest teams tended to start matchmaking right at the beginning of each round.”

“In other words, if we begin matchmaking now, we’re very likely to meet some of the strongest opponents early. That’s not in our favor.”

“So, like in round five, I think we should wait until the very end to start matchmaking.”

“This way, the chances of facing weaker teams increase, boosting our chances to advance to round seven.”

Chang’s words were taken seriously, and the other team members nodded in agreement; after all, some teams were eliminated because they matched too early against strong opponents.

Hearing this, Wang Yao couldn’t help but smile wryly.

“Coach Chang, although that theory sounds reasonable, it’s not how it actually works.”

“Otherwise, we wouldn’t have faced Korea’s Samsung Team last time at the very end, nor would the Zhu Zhao Team have met Korea’s Hanwha Team then.”

Wang Yao laughed and shook his head, feeling that theory was like saying the last lottery ticket buyer has the best odds.

In truth, probability is pure randomness! Besides, you never know when other countries’ teams will start matchmaking.

Unbeknownst to him, the moment Wang Yao finished speaking, not only did Chang Guangming’s expression sour, but the faces of all Zhu Zhao Team members darkened instantly.

The reason? In round four, their tactic had been to wait until the last moment to match with weaker teams.

But unexpectedly, as the Chinese champions, they still couldn’t overcome Korea’s seventh-ranked team!

Meanwhile, China’s tenth-ranked Qilin Team had defeated Korea’s runner-up, creating a miracle!

“...”

“So when do you want to start matchmaking?”

After a long pause, Chang Guangming regained his composure and asked Wang Yao.

“Right now,” Wang Yao said decisively.

“I’ve already declared our goal to break into the top 48 and win the championship. If we back down now, trying to match with weaker teams...”

“Not only will foreign viewers be disappointed, but even our own Chinese fans might lose faith in Qilin Team!”

His gaze burned bright as he stated firmly.

Matchmaking with weaker teams?

Only weak teams think that way. But Qilin Team aims to be the global champions, to sweep away all opponents!

So why hesitate?

Just do it!
